Hypogonadism: medical d-qualifier for military

It's official, hypogonadism has become a disqualifier for military service. As per new order, I have been processed for discharge on the grounds that I am not "physically qualified" to execute my orders. The irony is... the guy typing up my orders for discharge is probably 150 pounds and never lifted a weight in his life. Anyway... all individuals E-8, 0-5, CWO-4 and above will be allowed to finish their careers without forced retirement. Individuals baring lesser rank but with more than 13 years service will be forced to retire on a medical discharge with benefits. So basically, if you have been serving your country faithfully for 6 years and are a Sergeant, you will be abandoned by the very organization you've dedicated your life to with nothing to show for it. They are looking at cases on a case-by-case basis now, but policy will be enforced across the board soon.

They should allow everyone who's already in the system to finish their careers and disqualify all those who are in the process of enlisting. But what else can I expect from an administration that has continually cut back on veteran benefits.

this totally sucks i'm sorry to hear this.... it seems they keep screwing u over from calling u overweight to booting u out just because u got to take a shot each week...... what is this military comming to when they want a bunch of 100lb soilders running around.... soon they wont be able to hold the gun up

does this mean you get to keep your benefits? Will you go back to school?

If you've got only 13 years or less of time in service, you will not receive medical benefits. You can have a veteran status, but cannot draw benefits as a veteran.

I opted to rotate to a reserve unit and go back to school should they decide to boot me. So I have that to fall back on.

This has not been enforced nationally yet, but it will be. The order has yet to make it into any official pubs, but I got this information from a DOD employed doctor that works on a Naval base.

If they do this can you take them to court. My job tried this with me and I turned them in to the EEOC. Doing this put my co. in big trouble with the Gov. so they settled with me to stay out of court. I cost them there ass.

I'm going to contact Rick Collins, being that he's the leading steroid lawyer in the civilian world. I doubt he's ever done a PEB rebuttle in the military, but he's the best there is in steroid law. But even then, that won't change my RE code and, after all, it is the military... they can do whatever the hell they want with their people. That's why some of my friends have been in Iraq since the beginning of the war.

I'm going to. What makes it tough is this; native-american reservations are governed by a different set of laws than the rest of the US... well... the UCMJ (governing laws of the military) is even farther in that aspect.

Stop complaining. Atleast you got toward that stage. I have primary hypogonadism which is worst than center. My genitalia is adnormal so having relationships and dating isn't occuring. I cannot run that fast and if I don't take Androgel daily along with other items my body will become lessoned. Even if I'm strong with a just soul, doesn't matter when you have alot of folks counting on you, and you fail due to not taking your medications for hypgonadism, that reason won't matter. You failing will. Same as, no one cares how primary hypogonadism has negativity effected my life.

So go be a cop if not be a lawyer or something else profound.
If you are truely pissed over the miltary dicisions, go run for public office or make your claims more prominent. Just don't cry and want others to feel sorry for you, because if that's the purpose of this forum, I could tell stories on how primary not centered has negativity effected my existence given it wasn't treated until now.

I'm a proud American Sir and never again curse at me. I tried to help you with sound advice. I tried to put myself within your miltary situation. If I knew you had a medical condition that would infringe upon you having my back during negative times, I would be very concerned. Sir, not every one is meant to be a soldier killing every thing in sight. I'm sure you could have a successful career in the miltary just not fighting. Go back to college, help America in other ways. Picking up a gun and shooting it, doesn't dictate your Americanism.


Hypogonadism is a serious concern that isn't viewed within that content via the medical field. Not enough research is being applied for the notion of having low testosterone being a prominent factor in reduced life cycles and successes.


Next time, you better show more respect toward your peers. I never cursed rather my words were composed meaning proper and I emphasized the notion that I cared about your situations. Now I simply don't. With that Attitude, flipping burgers should be your next career assignment not defending President Bush personal interest.

Gamer I respect you, and never was a word that I typed disrespectful or vain toward anyone within this forum. I am very moral and respectful toward all. Gamer, I won't emphasize something that I don't have some form of knowledge within. Do you want to debate me on the differences between center and primary hypogonadism?
