For the past 6 months I have been trying to find out more about TRT and after getting a referral from my GP to a Urologist I had some blood work done to find out causes for my low normal testosterone levels which have attributed to low libido, etc. History - 28 yr/old with some pubertal gyno, exercise regularly and have never done any anabolics/prohormones, etc. The only supplements I use daily are protein, creatine, glutamine and multi-vitamins. I am still waiting for the results for free testosterone and prolactin (which should be available in a week or less) Here are the results from my blood work thus far: Cholesterol, total - 136 <200 mg/dl HDL - 43 > OR = 40 LDL - 73 <130 mg/dl Total Testosterone - 291 241-827 ng/dl Free Test ****still waiting**** PSA total - .7 < or = 4.0 ng/ml FSH - 2.4 LH - 3.0 Estradiol - 17 Reference Range 10-50 Chorionic Gonadotropin - <2 Prolactin - ***still waiting **** The Urologist I am seeing is not really going to help me out and suggested that all of my values are pretty normal even though they are low. It sucks because my total test levels are that of a 50+ year old man it seems. I need to find another DR in the Los Angeles/Orange/San Bernardino county area that is more knowledgable in the TRT area. I am trying to find out if I have a pituitary issue because to me it seems FSH and LH are low. Thanks guys and I appreciate the input! |

Let's see, your total T is 50 points above the reference range. The LH and FSH are low, but not so low that an asshole endocrinologist would think you just came off a cycle. You being in Cal, probably have a wide variety of DO and anti-aging practitioners that will see your results as medically significant. Your lab work actually needs a few more tests, such as adrenal function and thyroid. If those come out low, then a dead pituitary becomes plausible. What brought my low T to my attention was not any sexual issues, but muscle wasting and fatigue that has gotten worse for the last 20 years. I now know how a man thinks because I take a 125 mg injection once a week. Its also nice to not be pot bellied but skinny everywhere else. I hope this all works out for you.

Thanks Phil, I am currently going through the screening process today ![]() I also wanted to give an update on some results that came back today regarding my recent Testosterone lab results: Total Testosterone - 373 Free Test - 108.8 % Free test - 2.92 Range 1.1 - 2.8 Prolactin test results are still not back yet. My total test went up a little from the last test I did, but what does the %free being higher than the range indicate? Thanks! |

My gut tells me that your lab results are not accurate, especially in light of the fact you had to wait for the free T results. I would look at getting a new test from another lab. I have had consistent results from Labcorp, and the results are usually ready in 48 hours.

Its definitely strange......I definitely need to get my Total Test level up though, hopefully by finding out more information about what is going on. This DR I am seeing now seems to think my total test is "normal" because I fall in the range and he is also convinced by FSH/LH levels are "normal" as well. Here are some other historical facts as well which might be of some relevance: 1. I have had elevated liver enzymes the past 4 years (regardless of taking supplements or not) 2. I have some symptoms of hypoglycemia where I have found that if I am under alot of stress, minimal sleep, and I have gone long periods without food -- my blood sugar will drop and I'll pass out (its happened at least 4 times in the last 4 years) -- Insulin response is something that would be interesting as well 3. Never had acne and minimal bodyhair (especially facial hair) |
