Here they are, as best I can interpret the sheet- Thyroglobulin antibodies- 125 (range <20). A tad high, no? Reverse T3- .17 (range .19-.46) Free T4- 1.0 (range .8-1.8) TSH- 3.79 (range .4-5.5) Free T3- 317 (range 230-420) I haven't scheduled the follow up with the Doc yet. Any idea what this means? |

I wish I knew! I have never been good at interpreting thyroid results. I just don't get it for some reason! Maybe someone here could explain things in detail for ya and I could learn in the process!

Well, from what I've been able to gather, the elevated antibodies suggest I probably have hashimoto's thyroid, an autoimmune disorder where my body is attacking my thyroid. Even though the rest of the results are "within normal ranges" they are at the wrong ends. My TSH is above the median for the listed range, and when the new range accepted by the american association of endocrynologist of .03-3.04, it's well elevated. My FT4 level is almost tanked on the low side, and my FT3 is as well. I suffer from many classic hypothyroid symptoms, so hopefully my doc will treat based on this. I'll find out tomorrow. |

Given these numbers, a mainstream endo probably will probably tell you that you are "normal" and do not need treatment. Depending on your symptoms, a doc specializing in HRT and/or age management might be willing to do a trial of thyroid hormone. |
