PLEASE EXCUSE ME, i am new to this board although i posted 2 threads recently. I am a 57 year old male in good health that was recently diagnosed with primary testicular failure. I was very tired, no libido, unable to keep strong erections without viagra so i went to my primary MD who sent me to an endocrinologist-- the endocrinologist noticed that my testicles were atrophied. He ran some lab tests -- I need help with these numbers-- thanking you in advance (norms are in parentheses) Testosterone = 1.88 ng/ml (1.75-7.81)TSH = 2.03 MCiU/ml (0.4-4.00) TOTAL TESOSTERONE = 171 L ng/dL (241-827) sex hormone binding globulin = 24 nmol/L (15-49) albumin = 4.3 g/dl (3.5-4.9) Tesosterone, Free = 42 pg/m (34-194) Testosterone, free + WB = 83 L ng/dl (84-402) Beta-HCG, quant-serum = 0.6 miU/ml (0.00-5.0) LH-2 = 19.8 miU/ml (1.2-8.6) Prolactin-2 = 15.8 ng/ml (2.6-13.1) I was given a prescription for androgel, 5 mg/day-- tesosterone went to 5.43ng/ml (1.75-7.81) but was still tired so doc upped doage to 12,5 mg/day anf testosterone inreased to 11 ng/ml. doc lowered dose to 7.5 mg/day but testosterone stayed up at 10.5 ng/ml. then doc lowered dosage back to 5 mg/day and tesosterone has stayed very constant at 5.5 ng/ml energy is better but not normal, libido is really back and erections are pretty strong and last without viagra. My testicles are much smaller than they should be, will they stay that way???? ANYTHING ABOUT THESE NUMBERS THAT JUMP OUT AT THE EXPERTS??? THANKING EVERYONE IN ADVANCE-- I AM SOOOOO GLAD I FOUND THIS BOARD |

Ok you have Primary low testosterone meaning your testis don't make enough T. Your Prolactin is over the top of the range and I find this odd most Primarys don't have high levels like this. High Prolactin points to a Pituitary Problem in the brain this should be looked at with an MRI of your Pituitary to see if you have a tumor. It's best to keep you Total and Free T levels up in the upper 1/3 of your labs range for a young man. Your TT is just under the upper 1/3 but your Free is way down. I feel you need to have your Estradiol tested a test for men like this one. Estradiol, Sensitive If your high this will keep your Free T down best to keep Estradiol down between 10 to 30 best at 15 to 20 for your SHBG of 24. If your test comes back high then you can get it down with Arimidex .25mgs every 3 days. High Estradiol will kill your sex life give you bad ED and make it hard to orgasm, mess up your Prostate, make you feel panic and bad brain fog. Here is a good link to read. Male Hormone Modulation Therapy.. HGH replacement, Testosterone Replacement

With your SHBG=24 you need TotalT~900ng/dL~31.5nmol/dL to get proper FreeT~250 You balls will shrink to nothing, either do not worry about or get HCG Novarel, subq shots 250iu E2D. -------------------------------- You may want to look at post #52 Prolactin, and post #41 chart to figure out your freeT when you know TotalT and SHBG.
