I live in Japan. HRT is still undiscovered territory here. My doctor is new to the game. I told him I would like to maintain fertility by getting 250iu's of HCG twice a week. He said "That's not how we do it in Japan. If you want HCG we have to stop giving you testosterone shots. You can get 3000iu shots only." He didn't go into much detail. It was very plainly labled "The Japanese way". In Japan, steroids are legal to purchase online and imported. However, before making a purchase of HCG I wanted to get the needles. I called and to double-check before importing anything. Apparently needles are no legal to import or purchase in Japan. Doesn't make sense. According to the law it's even illegal for people to give themselves insuline shots even when diabetic, however a nurse teaches them to give themselves shots. Although this is illegal, it's something that is "looked over"... So, what are my options? I'm at a loss. I don't want to order something and go to jail. Japan is not a place I want to be in jail (Not that I want to be in jail anywhere) However, my health is important to me and so is my fertility while on HRT. I can't keep sperm on ice because they don't seem to do a lot of that here. So again...what do I do? What are my options? |

With all due respect to Phil, I'm not so sure I agree that HCG will not keep him fertile. HCG does act on the testicles the same way as LH and to some extent it also acts as FSH (in fact to an even less extent as TSH). He has a much better chance of being fertile on HCG as the AACE guideline in our sticky states than on T replacement especially if it goes on for years. In fact he has no chance on T replacement. He has to rely on the hope that his balls will come back online later when he wants to have children. For many, like me, that does not happen. On the other hand I dont know what else to advise DaVinci2 to do. Either leave Japan, or be willing to give yourself HCG illegally, or let your testicles shut down. The only other option would be to find a more open mided doctor in Japan. Even here in the U.S. most doctors would not give you HCG. Do they have any anti-aging doctors there or fertility specialists? You could also try clomid if thats legal to see if it works. If you are secondary it may work for you and keep you fertile too. Its a pill so no needles needed. Last edited by farmerjohn; 07-20-2006 at 11:38 PM. |

Clomid and nolva are fine. I'm still trying to find out what kind of laws Japan has if I did import them and got caught. According to some who have imported needles, they have no had any troubles. Another reason for adding HCG to the mix is because I've read that it will help increase low t already. I'm not sure whether I have primary or secondary, the doctors never checked. It was simply low testosterone over a period of 6 months that made them decide it was OK to go on TRT...and some other blood work. I asked my doctor if it could be the sleep meds I'm on (HAve been on for a year) and he said no....so I don't know what else it could be. I train 3 days a week, cardio 3 days a week, 3000 cal diet. I live healthy, but suffer all the symptoms of low t |
