I get 125mg of t shots once a week. I've been getting them for about 4 months. Worried about fertility I had my sperm checked. I didn't ejaculate for 2 days. This morning I had a lot less volume than I expected, but I didn't think much of it. The doctor put it under the microscope and said "You have no sperm. This is probably NOT because of TRT. TRT may lower it in 4 months but not put it to nothing." He suggested I go of the T for 3 weeks come back do a blood test and a sperm count again. What do you guys think? Might I have had a problem before hand or is there something I'm doing wrong? One more question...how long after stopping t shots do levels go to normal? I was looking forward to my shot today, but obviously didn't get it. |

I wasn't using HCG because it's not part of the protocol in Japan. The doctor said I had a choice between test and hcg. I'm not sure what my FSH levels are, I think my estrogen is high and obviously low testosterone. The doctor said the hospitals in Japan don't check DHT so I couldn't get that tested. I plan on self-administering HCG once I figure out my 'needle' problem. I'm off the testosterone for about a month to see what happens. |

Statistically, though chances are my sperm count was high, and my guess is higher than pre-TRT. Other semen 'qualities' also reminded me more of my 20's., suggesting things were more 'normal'. This seems to happed within a few shots of starting HCG. Also I was hardly 'newlywed' - just beggining to get some semblance of libido back - very easy to pinpoint the exact day of conception. And FSH levels were below threshold - I assume the HCG, acting as an FSH analog was keeping, or increasing sperm production. |

HCG does act as FSH to some extent so it should definitely help sperm count. HCM (not sure of the name) is more expensive and is supposed to increase sperm count even more if youre trying for a baby and HCG is not enough. Dont do all 3000 iu in one day. The max is 500 iu in any day to avoid desensitization. |

Do a Pub Med search for Pergonal or HMG. This may address your sperm count, there are a ton of studies where hypogondal men were able to impregnate their partners, many with HCG alone or HCG/HMG together. Good luck.

I'll give HCG and the other advice a shot if it comes to that. |

I guess I got a bit 'keyboard happy'. What caould cause a ZERO sperm count anyway? I could imagin HCG increasing sperm count, but I wonder (as I guess you are) if it could really take you from zero to something reasonable. |

I'm assuming that I had zero to start with. The doctor isn't sure. They don't really have fertility issues in Japan, and if they do it's not often spoken about unfortunately. My doc thinks that the TRT could be PART of the reason so we're just taking a look. I'll start with the HCG once I get some to see if there's a difference.
