Normal after an IM injection

Does anyone else get something similar to DOMS, 24-48 hrs after injecting Test Cyp? I feel no discomfort the day of the shot or during, but 24-48 hrs later and the muscle is slightly tender, I guess sticking a 1" needle in it will do that. I just wanted to make sure this was normal.

i have had pain the day after a shot only once .... and i have shot over 20x............

Yes, I sometimes get soreness at the injection site starting a day or so after the injection.

Many find heating the barrel under hot water for a couple minutes helps a lot as well as a good deep tissue massage after injecting. Trying a different location for your injection might help as well.

Where are you doing your injections? I find that its pretty easy to make yourself sore with a theigh injection if you don't do it perfectly. The muscle needs to be as relaxed as possible, and you need to push it straight in fairly quickly, inject, wait about 15 seconds for it to spread and then withdraw straight out.

I've found that if I move the needle accidently or if I get a muscle twitch then I will be sore the next day. Also make sure the area is sterile beforehand because a small infection would be painful as well.

Just to be clear, it is critical that the pin is not exposed to the water, or else it becomes unsterile.

I am shooting into the glute and this soreness is deep within the muscle, it only lasts a day or two. It was my first self injection, so I was probably a little tense. I will try to relax the muscle next time and push the needle in a little quicker
