I am on compounded Pregnenolone 100mg q am (every morning) (reduced from BID [two times a day] for the first 4-6 month) FYI Pregnenolone 100mg is by RX only where source and purity can be assured with good relationships with your custom compounding Pharmacy. 50 mg is available at health food stores and is not RX dependant. I took it with Telemorex two caps twice a day. Rx started because of significant brain fog issues. Had an immediate response with clarity in the first week. This was all before starting BHRT. Also started taking alpha lipoic acid and phosphoralated serine to boost memory back to normal after finding those deficient as well. It's been about a year now. Remember Pregnenolone falls right after Cholesterol on the metabolic pathway of steroidal hormones. Is it any wonder we have such a epidemic of Alzheimer's/Dementia in this country with the rampant use of "high fiber" and statin drugs. First thing that goes out of the gut is the bad & the good cholesterol and pregnenolone! Key to memory and is a primary precursor to all steroidal hormone. I had a direct increase in DHEAs from 2.7 to 25.6 (saliva range 2-24). Just happened to repeat a saliva test.

If I am feeling ok - Is there any reason to test for pregnenolone since I have been on TRT (about 7 weeks)?

So inclincal practice a person with low cholesterol would probably be low on pregnenolone which can be extremely benefical in men's HRT. Actuall they are finding out that autistic childern have low cholesterol which could be affecting their abiilty to think, decrease immunity, and also inability to detoxify heavy metals and pesticides. YOu would not know how many people that I run into with cholesterol below 160 and tell them it is un healthy and they have been told by Dr that it is excelllent. My cholesterol was down to 99 and my dr told me WOW that is so awesome number later I find out that my chances of stroke have gone uip almost 4 fold. Wow wonderful is that, People with high shbg I find usually vegetartian diets and also high fiber drilled in their heads from dr because its good for you. Ok fiber lowers cholesterol in high cholesterol settings but what does high fiber do to a person who has cholesterol o f 140. What does fiber do. Binds fat and cholesterol DUH !!

In Dr. Crisler's protocol for hCG he talks about it stimulating the P450SSC enzyme which converts Chol to Pregnenolone. I am sure this explains a lot of the good feeling when on small doses of hCG with TRT.

From what I have read anyting lower hen 160 can be increasing chances of stroke, depression, and suicide. Cholesterol is needed to keep cell membrane intact and proper communicating with every cell.

Very interesting. Checking my cholesterol levels

Cholesterol 134 mg/dl <200
HDL 34 mg/dl >45
LDL 81 mg/dl <160
Triglycerides 94 mg/dl <150

is that connected to my adrenal fatigue? I tried pregnenolone use some times, still didnt know the dose, yet i am concerned whether it will lift my cortisol, testo or estrogen values or even worse aldosterone levels and cause hypertension and further changes in my intracranial pressure... You never know which pathway pregnenolone follows in your body. Plus what happens when you get of pregnenolone after some weeks to months ? Do your enzymes keep working properly or will there be new problems with converting enzymes? Those steroids affect the way your genes are encoded you know they dont have such a benign action on your body

Nevertheless i was always wondering why i have so low cholesterol values? I eat eggs meat etc every day almost. And still levels are soooo low. Whats going on?

Low cholesterol is usually linked with bile problems and thicken bile from the liver. If its low its probably built up in the liver and needs to be flushed out by using choline, inositol, and possible manganese deficiency can low cholesterol as well.
