Default prolactin and dopamine!!!!!!

Can anyone help on this issue. I need to know if I should consult my endo or a primary care doctor about dopmine issues. I dont have insurance so I just dont want to wast money on the wrong doctor.

Which one should I consult? Can endos help this issue or is it a primary care doc?
What is the normal range a person should have for both prolactin levels and dopamine levels.

I'm not sure sure what a normal person's levels should be?

Dr Shippen likes Prolactin =3

Prolactin
This test is used to assess inappropriate lactation and is also useful in the detection of prolactin-secreting pituitary tumors. Elevated prolactin is associated with anovulation and amenorrhea. Prolactin can also be elevated in hypothyroidism when TSH is high. Some studies indicate that elevated prolactin may promote breast and prostate cancer growth.

Reference Ranges:

Men:
2.1–17.7 ng/mL

LE’s Optimal Range:
2.1–5 ng/mL

Well dopamine can have an effect on libido. Symptoms of low dopamine are low sex drive, and not being able to love or show and feel emotions. I've had these two problems for many many years. I have a hard time expressing or feeling love and I dont know why. I've always had a weak libido growing up and until now. The past five years my libido has been really gone. Absolutly no desire. Every one including my family and girlfriend say that I dont act like I care about anything and have no emotion or enthusiasm. I'm not a dick head towards people but just cant feel love for no reason at at. I've been on trt for 2 year and still dont have libido at all, nothing what so ever!

Growing up I also had trouble show or expressing emotion.
4 years ago I took a test booster from GNC called t3 and it made my sex drive go through the roof. My premature ejaculation went away when I was on t3. I felt like the happiest person and was able to express love and it felt good. But the herbs in t3 are bad if you stay on it for to long it will surpress your testosterone. Since I already had an testosterone issue I didnt want to make it worse when I came off. PLus doing 12 pills a day and spending almost $ 100 a bottle was expensive at that time. I just want to cure the problem not take herbs for the rest of my life that are known to screw people up.

I`m somewhat familiar with many of the ingrediants in T3.
http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp...entPage=search

I dont see anything that would suppress T. To the contrary they would tend to suppress the aromatization of T to E2 and increase T. Why would any of the herbal extracts be harnful in the long run and not the short. Wheres the proof, or at least a good study, indicating this ?
As to this product causing a complete turnaround in your personality- thats remarkable.
Why dont you try to duplicate the results. $100 bucks would be a small price to confirm the results.

Bro, I'm not trying to be a dick, just trying to help:

Based on all you've written (Obviously I don't know you from the man on the moon - don't get mad at me), I think you definitely need to at least bounce these issues of a General Prac.

Rather than take guesses about your chemical makeup, or make what may be false assertions about supplements, I think you need at least a blood test, and maybe some "therapy."

I can't remember what its called, but there is a dissorder that starts with an "a", that usually occurs in men that don't show emotion (alexithymia?). Being depressed on some level could account for the things you're saying. I'd make a list, go to a Practitioner, and go right down bouncing these things off them.

Again, I'm not saying I know you, your situation,. . . just throwing it out.

Peace!

Do you think that I should take t3 with my trt? I'm on test cyp 100mg per week and arimidex every other day.

If the herbal t3 made all the difference in the world and test cyp 100mg per week and arimidex every other day doesnt, I would stop the test cyp 100mg per week and arimidex every other day and try the t3 for a month and note what happens. Still dont understand why you stopped the t3 in the first place. Please explain this.

I had been on many different forums including this one were people were saying that they experienced testosterone supression from these type of herbs (tribulas).
Since I was having serious issues, I didn't want to make it worse. I should have comtinued but for how long the next 30 years of my life. I was just more interested in curing the problem and not being on anything for that many years. If I go on it agian and it works, how many years are they going to keep making this product. What if they stop then what do I do?

What have your heard about this product as far as results form people?

So you were feeling fine and stopped because you were concerned with what might happen and now you`re back to feeling like crap. I still dont get it.
If you have a biochemical imbalance or genetic defect there might well not be a cure. Perhaps the best you can do is to correct it by taking something that will supply the missing or abnormally low whatever it is or modify your biochemical reactions to a better outcome. These sort of things often dont become evident until later in like. Such as arthritis or arterial plaque. So maybe think of it as getting a head start.
Your lack of affect, (flat emotionally) concerns me. Are you sad most of the time ? Feel worthless or that most people are better off than you ? Do you get angry some of the time or never or a lot of the time?
Havent heard anything about that product speciffically. Are you talking about the shutdown effect that exogenous T has on natural T production?

I dont get angry all the time but I was more misserable before trt. I dont feel as misserable know but do feel other people are better off then me. I've always had brain fog even before trt. Well I'm still dealing with it now but sometimes when I hit the right range of e2 with arimidex I'll feel good. I just can feel love emotion for some reason even when I know that I care about the person. I'm always lazy for no reason and at night fall asleep or get tired early even when I'm at a party. The only time I am not tired is if arimiex gets me in the right range but its tough to stay there and I've been dealing with it for months now and cant stay fixed. I alway have brain fog and confusion every week. On t3 I had so much energy and felt great, no confusion.

Did you mean can`t ?
" I just can feel love emotion for some reason even when I know that I care about the person"
Everyone, family, girls, pets ?
So youre sure its E2 variations thats at the root ? Its really hard to determine cause and effect, especially when youre in the middle of it. You started talking about dopamine being the problem..
Still dont understand if you were feeling fine on the h3 you stopped. It it possible that it isnt E2 causing the problems and that when you felt ok on h3 the actual cuase was something else.
Whatever the case, try the h3 for a monthand stop the others and keep us posted. Thats what I would do.
