My wife and I use blenders. I think that she has a shaker/blender combo. I believe it is battery operated. We also have a hand-held blender and a smoothie-blender. Neither one of us could ever get the shakers to work well.

I use the Optimum Whey also but use skim or 1% milk instead of water. It seems to dissolve better and it taste a whole lot better.....plus you get the extra protein from the milk. I use a shaker also and its not perfect but most of it is not sludge. Also, the shaker is a lot bigger than the quantity of milk and I think that helps it work better too. I got the shaker from bodybuilding.com free with the Optimum.

Have you tried Pro Complex by Optimum? Its the best one I've found, tastes like chocolate milk to me. I'll always try something new but always wind up throwing it away & going back to the Pro Complex. It disolves really quick, maybe 10 or 15 shakes in my shaker cup & down it goes. Low fat, low sugar, low carbs. Compared to the other crap that I've tried, that yes, you would need a blender to use it every time, I've not found that the case with the PC. Its worth the $$$.

I like vanilla VPX Zerotein Whey protein. Mixes well with a spoon in water and is good mixed with fat free milk and sugar free/fat free Jello instant pudding mix.

I enjoy ON Whey Isolate. It's instantized and contains digestive enzymes.
