Default Question about finasteride and TRT

im 23 and have been on TRT for about 6 months and now have very noticeable hairloss on the front and top of my scalp not necessarily receeding, just thinning alot. I never had signs of hairloss before. I have been using nioxin shampoo and cond lately but know that wont make much difference, but i hope its better than nothing. The sudden realization that i probably will be bald or have less hair than my 50 year old father is not good.

So, my question is since im already on testosterone how likely is it that i will have ED and libido problems IF i used fina?

Also, i was going to see a dermatologist about this and other options. Is that the doc i would go to? any recommendations on finding a good one for this stuff?

Thanks

Default Finistaride is implicated in many cases of TRT and can really screw you up.

Use it at your own peril. Many have irreversible problems that even TRT can't fix. But, if I had to guess, you've got elevated DHT, which is associated with hairloss.

If I were you, I'd shave my head, go with the bald look and enjoy a working penis instead.

Are you on transdermal or injections and what is your T level?

Fair warning but I wouldn't rule out using it personally if I was losing my hair. I know about 12 guys between family and friends of mine who are on it...I've had the discussion with them before about finasteride and only one of them has stopped taking it due to sides (loss of libido). My brother has been on it for 10 years with no issues whatsoever. The fact is that the vat majority >90% of people taking it don't have sexual sides , especially not permanent ones. The people who have problems with this stuff are the ones whose DHT was not greatly elevated to begin with and thus drove it too low with the use of this drug.

Im on IM cyp injections, last time i had bloodwork done believe my total T was in the mid 600's the day before my next shot, doing 150 mg every 7 days. I need to get more bloodwork done to check my DHT and other things, but i recently started on a new insurance with a new deductible and dont have the funds for that right now.

"I've used test e , some dbol, and tbol for a year, vertex area is bald and shiny now and unwanted acne!! I still have plenty of hair left at mid scalp and sides, but not at the vertex. I'm going to go for the hair grafts."

Have your Thyroid checked doing TSH, Free T3 and Free T4. Also try taking your temp first thing in the morning before getting out of bed. Put the gauge under your arm and stay still for 10 min's if your temp is less then 97.8 you could have a low thyroid and this is why your hair is coming out. I have been on TRT for over 24 yrs. I never lost any hair until about 3 yrs ago when I started having Thyroid problems.

I don't think its that, it would be nice if that were the cause.but its probably DHT I'm guessing. I'm hypothyroid and have been on t4 since I started the test. My free t4 and t3 were both at the top of the range last bloodwork.
