The last time I posted ASaxon said that taking
Testosterone injections alone could prevent fertility, Today I seen a new Urologist and he still wants me to take the
testosterone injections but added
Clomid 50mg, He gave me a Script for 25 tablets and I take one a day for 25 days untill I run out, then stay off of the
Clomid for one week and then do the clomid again for 25 days and he wants this done for the next 3 months, so I was wondering will the clomid 50mg and the testosterone injections raise my sperm count. I mentioned to him about putting me on
HCG while taking the injections but he said he wanted to do the Clomid with the injections first, So Please tell me will the Injections of Testosterone
Cyp and Clomid 50mg help raise my sperm count? Brian

You'd probably need a fertility expert to answer that question.
I don’t think taking T injections will make you fertile, in fact, Testosterone injections alone could prevent fertility. You need to incorporate a little
HCG into your
TRT if you want to try to induce spermogenesis. External T injections will not induce sperm creation as, I believe, research has shown that for whatever reason the testicles need to produce their own internal Testosterone at least in minimal quantities for spermogenesis to occur. In fact, because T injections cause LH and FSH to decrease because of the negative HPTA feedback loop the reduced LH causes your testicles to not produce as much, if any, internal Testosterone. This in and of itself can cause infertility. Taking a small amount of HCG which, from what I understand is an LH equivalent hormone, will cause your testicles to produce enough internal Testosterone to allow for the sperm generation process to occur.
I don’t know if this is really common knowledge outside of an endocrinologist specialty or perhaps only with a fertility specalist. If the doc that is prescribing
TRT for you isn’t an endo doc then he may not know this. In fact, I only know about it from posts made by Dr. John Crisler here on this boards in the past. You can read his
TRT protocol and HCG recommendations from his website at
www.allthingsmale.com.
Before I went on
TRT I had a sperm count of around 35 million (avg is almost 70 million) now that I’m on
TRT I am infertile. If I were to take HCG I would imagine my fertility would return but you never know for sure.
Finally, if you want children someday I would recommend that if that 1 million sperm count was pre-
TRT then you may want to do a fertility treatment with HCG before, or perhaps while, injecting Testosterone and then have your sperm frozen. If you are able to achieve decent fertility with a fertility treatment then at least having some frozen sperm would be a good insurance policy just in case you loose total fertility in the future. That’s what I did as it’s better to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to fertility.
