Question Question for the Doctors

It has been 4 weeks since my radical orchiectomy and my nerve pain has moved around(disapear from one area and goto another) week to week from parts of my upper thigh to the head of my penis, and then I had barely any pain anywhere, except yesterday I had nerve pain in my waist line cause I was walking around in the city for about 30 mins, now the general pain is only about 20% of what it used to be, I wouldnt really call it pain anymore, more of just a weird feeling wich comes and goes.
Anyway what is bothering me is my left dorsal nerve is swollen, it feels like a small tendon on the top of my penis and I have never felt it there before, and it feels like it ends right where the pain was last week.
It is defenetly not a vein as I can see all my veins and arteries and they show there color well, but this is harder then a vein and its shows no color at all, looking at online diagrams its position is consistant with the left dorsal nerve.

Could be a thrombosed vein. Difficult to say without an examination. Otherwise an ultrasound would tell you excatly what it is.

Its defenetly not a vein, it has no color under the skin, I have never felt a vein wich hasnt shown up blue. I just looked up thrombosed vein and it seems like it could be a lymph vessel but its not beaded so it has to be either a nerve or lymph vessel.

The nerve and the lymph vessel are about the size of cotton thread and it's VERY rare for them to get swollen. On the other hand, veins are large and frequenltly become thrombosed and therefore hard, painful and swollen. A thrombosed vien won't be blue. Viens look blue because they are full of deoxygenated blood. A thrombosed vein has no deoxygenated blood....just fibrin clot. If your doc doesn't know what it is, an ultrasound will solve the mystery.

Well I went to the hospital cause my GPs was closed this afternoon, and I didnt think this was anything to beat around the bush about.

I baffled 2 doctors,
the 1st one explained a lot of things to me I didnt know about other issues, but when it came to this cord he had no idea, he thought I was talking about the corpus cavernosa, he kept saying its that, then he called in his supervisor, the guy was half his age, he found it straight away and he still had no idea, he wanted to call in a 3rd doctor but that didnt happen. Instead they took a short cut, the 1st doctor told me not to worry he has it too and wrote me a referal letter for my GP to see my urologist. (In Australia all specialist doctors require a referal from a GP(PCP))

Ok I will make some more use of this thread. My stream of urine isnt as strong as it used to be, and it dribbles a lot afterwards. Between the talks with the doctor at the hospital and the research I have done I either have chlymidia wich has spread to my prostate(unlikely cause I got a full STD check 6 months ago wich all came back clear and Havent had unprotected sex since then) or I have benign prostate hypertrophy caused by high estrogen, wich would explain everything.

Quote:
# testosterone levels - As men age, the amount of active testosterone in the blood decreases, leaving a higher proportion of estrogen. Studies with animals suggest that BPH may occur when a higher amount of estrogen (in the gland) increases the activity of substances that promote cell growth.

So my question is, if BPH is caused by high estrogen, does it get reversed when lowing estrogen levels back to normal?
btw I dont get to see my PSA, E2 etc until monday.

Ok answered my own question rather quickly, I will leave this for reference:
Quote:
By elevating the bioavailabity of testosterone and reducing DHT and Estrogen or blocking their ability to bind with the prostate, the prostate gland will normalize in size and function.

Yes it could be sclerosed vein or a blocked lymph vessel from the surgery or maybe just fibrous tissue. In any case it will probably go away with time. You can speed it up and decrease pain by
using alternating hot and cold wet towels on the area.-daily

Thanks, I am just going to do the ring around for a random urologist if mine doesnt care to quickly see me inbetween patients.

I have found another case of it on the net but no other help from it.
