Ok, i originally wrote in the steroid section but i think i belong here. Ok i am in my early 20's and am on TRT because of low test levels cause by a pain medication i take. The pain med is an opiate and i am definetly addicted to it, i am starting a taper with it and should be completely done with it by the end of summer. However, until then it will be driving my testosterone levels lower. My doctor knows i am into bodybuilding and was really into coming to a decision about what to do. He originally prescribed androgel but i really didnt like that, so he put me on test cypionate at 200mg a week. I know this is a high dosage. I meet with him once a month because of how expensive he is. But i want to learn as much as possible about my situation. I orginally was going to try an up my dose to 400mg a week for a bodybuilding point of view. I now realize that would not be wise. However this is my first week and i have taken 400mg. I will definetly not do this again and only do what i was prescribed. I have alot of questions though. How long should a treatment like this last at 200mg per week? Do i fall into a different category because medication is doing this? My test levels would be fine if i wasnt on the pain meds. Will i gain significant muscle mass on this treatment? Should i be using nolvadex, Hcg or clomid? How do you run something like this? is it done in cycles like most do for body building or is it more long term? If i chose to run it for 4 months opposed to longer what could be the effects? I could go on forever with questions. I am reading as much as i can on this site and others. Thanks for your help!Que |

Hey man, I am in my 20s aswell on TRT. I think you should let that 400mg dose last for 2 weeks before your next injection of 200mg. You defenetly need a follow up blood test after 2 weeks of 200mg per week. If your T level is out of range you will need to lower your dose. Although 200mg is a high dose like you said, I think that the 200mg a week dose is justified by the cause of your low T, although it is aggressive for your doctor to start you off on that dose. 400mg per week would require you to take arimidex and would be unhealthy in the long run. TRT isnt cycled, and HCG shouldnt need to be considered seeing as though this sounds like temporary TRT, although you should also have nolvadex on hand incase you run into gyno. You will gain siginificant muscle mass only if you workout and eat enough. Personally I wouldnt feel comfortable using 200mg per longer then 3 months if I wasnt sure if it was too much or not.
