Hope I didn't spell that wrong! Been doing a bit of research into things which will actually help with sex drive as I really haven't had any results with regards to sex drive with my TRT. The Selegeline looks promising but I have a question about it. The research states that its effects are not reversible. Does this mean the effects are permanent? I know it is an MAOb inhibitor but if I stop taking it will the MAOb always be reduced or is it only short lived? These kinds of things I couldn't find and I would like to know as much as possible before I approach my doc about it. thanks!

The irreversiblity refers to the fact that the enzymes that bind to selegiline cannot be unbound. But since they are constantly produced the effect is apparent only while the selegiline is active. Th half life is 2 hrs. So if youre wondering if it makes a permanant change- no.

You may want to consider Test Pellet therapy since regular T therapy has not worked. Pellets IMHO is the best of the best in T therapy for sex drive restoration. However everyone responds differently.

Well, for me it's not a matter of sex drive restoration but a matter of creating one in the first place. I have been hypogonadal my whole life but couldn't get a doc to even consider checking it til I was 26 and then they said nope because I was above the lower end of the range....by like 30 points! So anyway, I've never really had a sex drive...least not like normal men. I figure something didn't develop the way it was supposed to because of the low T during my teen years. Kinda hoping since TRT didn't work all that great that maybe the Selegline or Cabergoline might be an avenue to try.

it increases mental energy, improves my memory, and puts me in a good mood. been taking just one mg transdermal for about 2 weeks now. i have not noticed an increase in libido or any improvement in sexual function from it.

I was clinically brain dead when I asked that question. And I thought I explained the irreversability befor. Maybe anoher thread. If I recall, all it means is that the biochemical bonds it causes cannot be broken. That is the reaction is not reversible as many are. Reactions causing vaso dialation and contraction, for instance. Not that it makes a permanant change in your biochemistry. The chemical bonds do fall apart over time and that is where the half life fits in. And besides MAO A and B is constant ly produced by I dont remember what. Quote:
