Syringe Dose Measurement

I was wondering about how you get the exact dose in a syringe? I haven't worried about it because I am dosing 1ml per week of TC and I get it in 1ml vials. I just use the whole vial. I do check to see that it is close because I do 1/2ml twice a week. Is the exact measurement when the plunger is pushed up so that the base and the needle is full?
