I remember SWALE wrote that one should not get their blood testosterone tested the morning after a strenuous weight lifting workout, because it would skew the results. I can't remember whether the intense workout increases or decreases test levels. I'd imagine that test levels the morning after a heavy weights workout would be lower, but when I had my blood testosterone levels tested the morning after a heavy weights workout, they were at the top of the normal range! All previous blood tests had me at the bottom of the normal range for testosterone. If someone can remember which way SWALE said testosterone tends to go i.e. up or down, the morning after such a workout, I'd be very curious to know. Thanks. |

I would think immediately after a workout your levels would be depleted. Theoretically, that depeltion would alert the HPTA that levels are low and muscles are broken down and need recovery and send down some LH to the testicles to ramp up the production of an increased level of T. It is well known that high intensity workouts increase T production as well as GH production. GH production can be increased up to 500+% by using a sprint style of training. How long this takes from the finish of the workout until the production increases is beyond me. |

I have notice when i'm doing bench press for examble (pushing a big load for my abilities) a stimulation in testicles like the HCG stimulation does in testes.I do not know if it is LH or other hormone does that, but is something triggers for more strength in this moment so as to be able to manage the effort. That;s why it is said that a big stress can deacrease or increase?testosterone. IMO is much a neurotransmitter issue than a single hormone, maybe a neurochemical signal for T production either directly in testes either in LH,GNRH,DHEA. Human brain is the greatest mystery. |
