Test Results and a couple of questions.

Just got some results from a new Dr. He did not run E2 much to my disappointment but, wants to start me on Andro Gel pump 4 squirts a day. This would be 5 mg I believe. Does this sound like a good starting dose? My results are as follows

Total T 167
Free T % 2.37
Free T 39.6

THS 3.23
T4 Total 8.8
T3 uptake 31

I have always heard that a lower TSH is better even though mine is is the acceptable range. I had a Dr. put me on Armour once but I stopped taking it because I changed Dr.'s.

Questions.

1. Is the starting does of the Gel a good place?

2. What do people use to naturally keep down the E2 without affecting the HDL cholesterol? I have heard some people use zinc. If so, how much to take?

Thanks for all any help you can give. This board is awesome. I really hope this works. Last time I tried T replacement it gave me really bad apnea. I am on a cpap now and trying again.

Yes this is a good start your dam low so you will start to feel better and not fall back so bad when your Testis stop making T. You need to do the gel for 2 weeks then get retested with E2. If your levels are not up in the upper 1/3 of your labs range for a young man then you need to up the dose to 6 pumps or 7.5 grams then retest in 4 weeks. With levels this low I would wait to take anything for E2 or Total E's until you are leveled off at a good range. Then if your E2 and Total E's are on the high side start with Zinc/Copper. Zinc lower the copper in the body so take 50 mgs of zinc to 2 mgs of copper.

Late you can end up with a problem with high E2 and DHT post when this happens.

Your TSH looks like it should be better, but one can only really tell if you also do a Free T4 and Free T3. Sometimes correcting thyroid will correct low T as well, but by how much I'm not sure. You might want to give try to correct your thyroid numbers first and see what happens before going with TRT. Please also post the lab ranges with those labs.
