I posted the following info on the Yahoo Hypogonadism forum and thought I would post it here as well. A caveat, though, is just because something is written in a patent doesn't necessarily mean it's true. A second caveat is that simply by adding vitamin E to your T cream/gel you are technically in violation of the patent according to Claim No. 1 of the patent. (My thinking on this, though, is that the inventor would actually be appreciative if enough people were successful using this idea such that it caught on and ultimately led to licensing rights and royalties for use by compounding pharmacists and/or manufacturers of products such as
AndroGel and Testim.) I'll be interested to hear whether people have any success in reducing E2 by adding vitamin E (either the alpha- or gamma- variety, as indicated in the patent) to their transdermal cream or gel.

This patent (U.S #6,743,448) contains some interesting
information, including the idea that when vitamin E is
mixed into a transdermal T gel/cream it apparently
significantly reduces aromatase activity:

I suppose that one might make a homemade version by
adding some of the contents of a vitamin E capsule to
your T cream and mixing it together just before
applying it to the skin . . .
