Over the past 3/4 months i have been studying medical papers, case studies and information on the subject of varicoceles, testicular health and the effects of various surgerys. Everything make's sense now and i have figured out the effects of this medical condition i have (it's deeper than just low testosterone). I almost hit the roof tonight when i diagnosed my condition and what is causing this groin pain! I got a huge burst of energy and everything fell into place. Let me explain a little. A few years ago i got a varicocele on my right testicle. A varicocele is a "swelling" of the veins connecting to the testicle. The "valves" (that control the reflex action of the blood in the body) became damaged due to an injury. This causes a blood flow preasure shift within the other vein's and a large swelling occured. The testicle is still getting blood but it's toxicated because it's not cycling as normal (it polls for a while and over heats). This lead's to a decrease in testicular function and over heating of the testicle which in turn causes various problems like drop in testosterone and sperm production. Tonight i spoke to a radiologist on the phone who deals with varicocele repair surgery using an embolization approuch. He explained that the "veins" in the testicle area also supply the scrotum skin and foreskin area with a blood supply so any "shifts" in this can cause adverse effects on the whole groin area. The penis dosen't get it's blood supply from here, it's a different artery system all together and not linked to this area. I have known this for some time. Ever since day one of this i noticed a change in my penis that didn't just seem testosterone related. It was something else a little stranger. One of the first thing's i noticed a few years ago was that the right side of the scrotum had changed color. As you will know your scrotum is split into two parts (with the line going up the middle towards the penis). One side of my scrotum was "thin" and had some kind of blood flow issue while the other side of the tissue was healthy, had better texture and looked normal in color. I didn't think anything of this but could never explain it. 13 week's ago when i got the injury to the left testicle i noticed within a few days that the scrotum skin had changed texture, color and look, instead of being healthy to unhealthy (thin) with little blood flow. Over a period of week's i noticed that my foreskin also changed color to a more darker skin color unlike my own natural skin color. After much thinking, i have discovered what's going on. The varicoceles have caused a shift (or problem) with the blood flow in both the testicles and associated groin tissue. This has resulted in a lack of blood flow causing the tissue in the scrotum to have less blood flow and become harder. The reason why i am getting so much irritation and (rashes) in this area is because their isn't enough blood flow to "soak" in the gel, this in turn is changing into skin irritation (a rejection process by the body). The rashes from testosterone gel is taking alot longer to heal because of the lack of blood flow in the area. Regarding my penis, basically the foreskin is 'pushing" in on my penis and almost compressing it (not letting it breath as normal (sometimes giving it an almost "egg-timer" like look)). The foreskin isn't smooth and stretchy like before. When i go into a shower or bath everything "hangs" like normal and i have no problems getting erections because the skin is smoother and my penis feel's normal. This happens because when i promote blood flow with the warm heat the foreskin stretchs and scrotum skin changes back to it's "normal" color. If the blood flow issue is fixed with regards to the testicle then the associated skin in the area will go back to being healthy and stretchy (granted it might take some time though). The problems is related to over heating with the testicular blood flow causing all the problems. So in theory the testosterone treatment is working well with me but the blood flow issue is causing it to not show. I can get erections but the skin is alot "tighter" causing some tingling and slight pain in the penis because it's having to work harder to "push" out from inside the tight foreskin. My main problem is finding a surgeon who can perform a micro surgical approuch to fixing the varicocels and in turn causing the skin change issues. The only one i can find is in america (of all places) and is located here: http://www.maleinfertility.org/ I am going to phone them tomorrow and ask more about this operation. No one in the UK is willing to help me and i have a very rare case here but enough to justify surgery. I will not perform surgery on myself but rather find a professional who can help me. Does anyone know any good urologist in the UK? |

I have varicocele. It was often painfull. When I would wear tight briefs (that would hold up my testicles) the pain would go away. In retrospect, my scrotum was very relaxed and hung low, that could possibly been a reason for the varicocele. When I noted that, I started wearing swimming briefs constantly. Only after I started my TRT, I started correlating relaxed scrotum with low Testosterone. After I started my 2 packs of Androgel /day the scrotum skin got tight. It holds my testicles and the varicocele does not bother me. But testicles are much smaller now, after 3 years on Androgel, and I am most likely sterile. I am 66yo and lack of fertility is not an issue for me. ------------------------- When I was younger my scrotum was often tight but sometimes it was relaxed. During erection the scrotum would always be tight Now on TRT my scrotum is constantly tight, it is never relaxed. |
