Default What do you think of these TRT options

I have secondary hypogondadism and 40 years old, Last year I was on Androgel for six months and had good results, but had to go off it for fertility reasons and my Total T leveled off at 260. My wife is 20 weeks pregnant and I have been doing HCG since september. I started at 250 IU 3x/week and at first felt great, but the positive effects went down over time. We bumped it up to 500 IU 3x a week and it really didn't help, and I could tell E2 was going up. My total T hardly moved, just above 300, and my E2 went from 24 to 37. So, I'm back to HCG 250 ED, and just not happy.

What do you think of the following options when I go back to the Urologist in two weeks?: (all include getting a real thyroid panel done)

1. Clomid only. My urologist would rather have put me on Clomid in the first place, he only agreed to HCG after I convinced him it would be better after hearing from you guys.
2. HCG with Arimidex. My urologist is very hesitant to two drugs when he thinks one drug would work ie: clomid or androgel solo.
3. Full blown TRT. Go back on androgel and try to convince the urologist to let me do HCG and Arimedex as needed.

Feel free to rank them as well. Thank you.

All options that you have listed I woul not use, specially #1.

Remember, body is trying to tell you that someting is wrong.

You have a excellent opportunity to start with clean slate, gett all the testing, understand your problem and only then start stuffing your self with whatewer make sense.

Little testing here and there will not cut it, it will bite you back in the end.
Unfortunately that what mostly is happening.

If you have insurance then totally you have no excuse.

JansZ why do you think clomid is so bad? I need reasons for the Dr.
I think if I gave him your comprehensive bloodwork list, he would flip-out.

Any body have any good doctors in Minnesota or elsewhere?

Why fix what isn't broken? You had a good result from androgel.

Clomid is not suitable for HRT purposes mainly beacuse of its unpredicatable side affects and its use long term is not advisable. Many report vision problems with clomid and sexual difficulties, and although it blocks some estrogen receptors it can stimulate others. this can vary greatly from one individual to another.
There is another drug currently being developed which will be simliar to clomiphene citrate, but has been designed so that the unwanted effects have been removed. It is called en-clomiphene citrate(androxal). It should be clear to your Endo for this reason that clomid is not a good choice for long term HRT.
Clomid is used for brief periods to restart the HPTA, but its counter part Nolvadex(tamoxifen) has been suggested as a better choice in this respect by many.
