So this was really weird... I've been off finasteride for about 1.5 years, but this spring, after suddenly becoming tuned to the fact that I had been somewhat chronically lethargic for some time, I decided to get hormone tests done. Sure enough, all the signs of hypogonadism were there: low T, low/normal LH/FSH. At that point, I began taking zinc (75-90 mg), assuming it would be a step in the right direction. Well, oddly enough the zinc actually seems to have caused some mild penile tissue changes (it now slants left). Any idea how zinc may have caused this? |

I doubt it was the zinc, but it can't be out-ruled i guess. High estridol can cause peyronies which is common in fina users (though who discontinue). I do know zinc can lower E2 as well as DHT though, so it's possible if your T was really low and other issues like hypothyroidism/adrenal fatigue were present.

All men are low on Zinc and Dr. Shippen says to start at 100mgs with 4 mgs of Copper for the first 4 weeks then go down to 50mgs and 2 mgs of copper for life. I have been on this for yrs. no problems.

Hey Man, I have the same curvature you are taking about, but for me, it just started pretty much one night to the next. While the zinc may have played a role, perhaps your prostate damage caused by the fin just hit its break point. I have read about a ton of guys who have the same problem on the propeciahelp.com forum. Goodluck man! |

But is it really even possible that zinc could do this (make it larger at all, that is)? |

I did Copper, serum=1856mcg/L(590-1180) Zinc=1051mcg/L(670-1240) I switched to copper-less version of my LEF multi. Wonder what excess of copper does? |

Mate, ive never heard of Zinc causing PD, but there is a ton of people all over the internet who acquired it after using finasteride.....I have it myself after using finasteride. Are you being treated for the suspected hypogonadism and if so how and how is going/not going?

Yeah, it's just weird that the PD didn't start until 1.5 years after I ceased the drug. It developed 1 week after I started zinc supplementation. Anyways, yeah I am being treated, by Dr. Crisler. I think he has jumpstarting with tamoxifen in mind, but I have yet to begin a protocol yet (still waiting for more blood results to come in). What are your experiences? Are you on TRT? |

I`m sorry bro I shouldnt have been joking about it. I have a bit of a curve to the left, never taken Finasteride, do take zinc, but was born with it. Its not much of a problem for me.
