You may have noticed a post recently regarding
Finasteride and within it there is mention of disturbed Alpha 5-reductase enzyme activity and how this might impair cortisol production.
I also recall that alpha 5-reductase is the enzyme responsible for creating
DHT. So I'm looking to confirm the link between alpha-5 reductase activity and the typical phenomenon of balding men with lots of body hair, little head hair, and middle body obesity.
Is it true that the high level of alpha 5 reductase activity is giving these men both high
DHT AND cortisol levels?. Whereby the higher cortisol levels impair insulin activity and cause middle body obesity.
I have both gynecomastia and some adrenal fatigue. I'm curious as to the prospect of using something that will increase alpha 5 reductase activity to increase
DHT (which will antagonise the excessive E2) and also give me the increased Cortisol my body craves.....
Has anyone thought to do this? If so what drug is used and can anyone give a brief run down on it?
Cheers
