Default bassack I just read this at webMD you will want to read this.

Here is a copy of a post at webMD.
Her husband went on TRT and made a lot of gains so bassack you will want to read this. Also I hope some of you go to this link and post back to her.

I posted back telling her about us here and hope she comes here.

Ok here is a brief (but long description) of what's been going on:

My husband is 26yrs old and found out about 3 1/2 yrs ago he has a rare case of thyroid and pituitary problems (although each time we go to a Dr. something different is popping up). He had an MRI done right off the bat after his blood work (testosterone was at 42 for the age of 22) which came back negative (no tumors). His endocronologist started him on Levoxyl and Androgel b/c of his blood levels and the fact that he never really finished puberty. (No body or facial hair, had baby fat on stomache and face, small genitals, couldn't gain muscle, etc.) Since being on meds he has changed drastically (grew about 6 inches, bulked up, has body and some facial hair, larger genitals) In March/April 2005 he had a sperm analysis done with the results showing absolutely no sperm (zero). He continued his meds where eventually his Endo though maybe he had Kallman's Syndrome since his sense of smell wasn't so great (but his urologist doesn't think so). After we got married in October 2005 we decided we needed to start seeing a urologist b/c we really didn't know what was going on and if we ever had a chance of kids we wanted to start preparing. We have been seeing a male infertility urologist since Feb 2006. He took him off the Androgel since that can contribute or cause infertility. He started sending him for bloodwork and after being off the gel for about a month his testosterone dropped drastically to around 70 to basically where he was before the meds. He also had an ultrasound done on his testicles to make sure there was no blockage, which there wasn't, but they did find a varicocele vein in his left testicle. Then in March/April he started taking 1/4 tablet of Clomid. After about 1 month he took another blood test which still showed his FSH, LH, testosterone and whatever else he tested at low levels and had him upped to a 1/2 tablet until his next appointment. But the 1/2 made my husband feel weird so he went back to a 1/4 since it really wasn't working anyway. We went back to the urologist on 5/23 and he had him get another blood test done, which his #'s were still very low. Then on 5/30 he started him on HCG (Chronic gonadotropin 10,000 usp units) injections. He has to go for another blood test in 3-4wks and we will be following up w/the Dr. on 7/10. Questions: 1. How do the blood tests show he is still infertile (tests testosterone, Estradiol, FSH, LH, and comprehensive metabolic profile - this is for his next test which Im assuming he had tested on his previous blood work). 2. The Dr. did not mention side effects - what are some commone ones? 3. How long till we know if it working or not? 4. Anyone's experience on HCG injections comments.

ps. were both scared this is not going to work....

Can we determine from this information whether he is secondary or primary? His story sounds similar to mine.

She did not post any labs I asked that she come here or the H2 group and post for help. If you can relate to this could you go to WebMD and help her.

Thanks Phil. Do you know what dosages over what duration produced these changes?

I know that Androgel is a T gel applied topically but am not familiar with Levoxyl. I'll try to read up.
