Dr's tend to look at the symptoms and rarely examine the cause.
I am available for phone consultations that may help shed new light and put yourself back on the pathway to wellness once again.
My understanding from talking with Dr. M is that the absolute number is not as important as the ratio of T:E. He seems to feel that ideal is between 20:1 or 30:1. All I can say is that my E2 is and has been very low (~7) for awhile with fairly high T and I feel like absolute dog shit in a variety of ways, not the least of which is my lack of libido.
Getting e2 up is the easy part keeping it in check is the biggest challenge.

That's interesting. I just watched the Dr. John video last night and he says just the opposite. He said that the ratio is not important and he just pays attention to the absolute numbers. Of course, I guess that is not surprising, as I have seen several areas where Dr. John and Dr. Shippen differ greatly. I guess it just goes to show that no one completely understands all that there is to know about the very complex issue of hormones. Or perhaps it is just that opposite ideas both work. It probably depends on the person who is being treated.
The end result is that you can look at all the clincal data on once there are always going to be exceptions to the rule. In a clinical setting I am dealing with some of the complex cases that dr's do not even want to touch such as
Adrenals antibodies, secondary hypothyroidism due to adrenal insufficiency, testosterone resistance (androgen resistance), people that are slapped on antidepressants when the source was adrenal insufficeny due to improper thyroid meds. I am sure Dr M has seen his share as well. To get proper treatments and results the Dr will be have to willing to tweak the protocol and think out side the box of traditional medicine, but stay with in the guidelines.

For me the best levels of E2 are when you get some strong night time and morning wood from rem sleep. When I don't get them on arimidex I know I am going down to low. I don't chase ratio's and labs for this I go by how I feel and my wood. The labs are just tool there are no set labs that give me good wood E2 changes all the time and one needs to keep a log on what they are taking and how they feel to keep it in the sweet spot.

If you are currently using adex, and realize you have knocked your E2 too low, and just stop taking adex. How many days does it take for your E2 levels to go back to where they would be if you werent taking adex at all???
Theoretical Question #2: Suppose you took a single full dose of letro, and knocked your E2 down 95+%. How many days do you think it would take to recover to normal E2 levels?

If you're on HRT, yes; if you are not (like me) then getting E2 up can be hard. Dr. M has mentioned HCG as a possibility, but we are waiting to see how things look when all the rough parts are smoothed out. I personally can't remember ever having the super high libido that most men experience, even as an adolescent/college student. I suspect that I just don't produce much aromatase.
