I have been told I have a hypothalamic problem from extreme diet and weight loss last year.
I was wondering if the clomiphene challenge test would show what part of my brain is not working.
Obviously if my LH and FSH raise my hypothalamus and pituitary are working. If they don't one of the two is what's messed up. If so then I could try to get a GnRH stim test to see where exactly it is.
I've had an MRI here are my bloods, any opinions or help would be nice
16 year old male:
LH 2.2 (1.5-9.3) L
FSH 2.5(1.4-18.1) L
Testosterone 96.7 (241-827) L
look for a specialist and start calling to try and get an appointment. Your situation is very serious, get more blood tests get as much out of your doctor as you can.

I dont' know of anyone who will give the GnRH stim test.
m_ob, you have been posting a lot here lately regarding your health.
Have you had follow up labs taken? You have posted that yout testosterone level is 97 but do you know that it is always around this level or is it possible that it was just low on this particular day or that the labs could have messed up and got it wrong?

I have notified you 3 months ago of finding a person to go ahead and perform this test. It would have been in your best interests to come out to see with Dr J or myself and Dr O to get this properly asseset. As stated before restart with proper assement of thyroid and adrenals support along with back filling the metabolic pathways to make testosterone and your hormones. If cholesterol is low we supplement it through diet and supplementation because we have seeen it to increase testosterone levels significantly. If you are constantly hungery this can also be sign of insulin resistance coming from other hormonal imbalance that need to be assessed as well. Your too young to be coming through all this shit and should have a normal healthy life, but 80% of teens are not healthy one way or another.

Dr's tend to look at the symptoms and rarely examine the cause.
I am available for phone consultations that may help shed new light and put yourself back on the pathway to wellness once again.

Have you taken a 24hr adrenal stress profile?
Whatever happens I wish you the best.
I've had many seperate draws, testosterone never being above 197 (morning draw)
3x a day saliva, normal, igf-1 low, low t3 with normal t4 and tsh, MRI done with no problems
I don't know whre to go from here, no endocrinologist will adress that it keeps getting worse.

I wish more than anything that I could get to one of your, but two factors are holding me back.
Sufficent funds and travel ability, Being 16 I'm not exactly making the most money and my parents are tired of going to doctors. I'm screwed and sadly contemplating a way out.. I don't know how much more I can take but if hormones have this much of an effect on your entire health I can't help but think..
Dr john is drivable too ...Thats most realistic. Get few of your buddies and make a road trip. Get a consent form from your parents giving him permission. For 600 bucks you could have an answer to life time of misery...

I would strongly recommend this as well. I know for a fact that this whole this is just nicking at you and it won't stop until it gets fixed. You also have the option to find doctors that work in the exact same way that dr. john dr. shippen and dr. o work. I know that other doctors follow the same procedures. I was first trying to get an appointment wtih dr. shippen but he was busy and I live 3 hours away. They simply said oh we have many doctors that follow everything he does in regards to testosterone. Now I am going to a doctor that works through dr. shippen who lives an hour away and I am 16. Life gets alot better when you know things are getting figured out and it stops bugging you. It will also be more affordable but then again may not help you as much as going to the actual best doctors for this. It's definetly worth the investment. I was ready to spend 600 dollars that I saved up to go to dr. shippen but a found an easier option. Do what you can right now and get to a doctor as soon as possible make a few calls and tell your parents. While your doing that get the money to go to dr. john shippin or o. Theres many ways to make that money. Go around your neighborhood and see if they would fund your cause, do yard work. clean there house. There are many ways to do this or just look for a job.
