Default Cholesterol & testosterone production?

Was wondering if anyone knew the answer to following -

It s been mentioned by a few people that deficiencies in steroid hormones may increase cholesterol production

Why is this?

Is it becuase steriod hormones are produced/synthesized from cholesterol and therefore lower production in transforming cholesterol into other biochemicals results in buil-up of former?

and would this then be a build up of LDL or HDL cholesterol?

Also is HDL or LDL cholesterol (or both) used in synthesis of testosterone etc?

Yeah the anti-aging hormone doc that I see told me to eat all the eggs I could get a hold of when she saw that my cholesterol was low....

heers guys - some good info

think 4-5 eggs a week would be about max for me though - too much of one thing by conventional wisdom would appear to be a bad idea
