That is a dam low dose of gel the best dose to start doing T shots is 100 mgs a week. Hold this for 8 weeks do labs if your not up onto the upper 1/3 of your labs range then go up 25mgs and hold 8 more weeks also keep track of our Estradiol levels keep them down to about 20 pg/ml.
After your leveled off and feeling good add in HCG doing 250 IU's the 2 days each just before your next T shot this will keep you leveled and keep your testis working so they don't get small.

That Damn low dose gave me 787TT after my second week on it. Now it's been almost three months since I started and my TT is still holding at 608. I do have a conversion problem and u se Arimidex to correct it. My Estradiol was up to 93 right before I started arimidex.
Honestly I am afraid 100mg T shot will be too much for me.
Testim absorbs very well. A lot of guys think it is the same as Androgel, but there are 2 studies that show that it results in about 30% higher TT levels than Androgel. I got up to 852 ng/dl on 10 gm of Testim. I never tried 5 gm of Testim, as 7.5 gm of Androgel did not work for me. When I asked my doc to switch me to Testim, he agreed to start at 10 gm.
From the various trials, it appears that Testim might absorb at about 13%, instead of the 10% that Androgel absorbs at. Since you are on 5 gm, which is 50 mg of T, you should get about 6.5 gm of absorption daily. However, this is very variable from person to person. Being that your TT levels are good on 5 gm, you might be getting better absorption than the average guy. You might want to start on 75 mg weekly on shots.
By the way, your TT level might continue to fall on gel or shots as your body produces less and less of its own T. Mine fell on Androgel for 6 months. I finally ended up being lower than I started out at after 3 months of 5 gm Androgel and then 3 more months on 7.5 gm Androgel. It just kept dropping after the initial early peak at about 1 month.
From what I have read, I don't think that switching to shots will lower your E2 levels. Since weekly shots give you peaks and lows throughout the week, you get more conversion to E2. I have not used shots, so perhaps some other guys can tell you of their experiences. If you read the various stories here and on other boards, I think you will see that most guys on shots are also on Arimidex. Another thing that will cause high E2 is using DHEA while also using T. The DHEA converts mostly to E2 if your TT level is good. I had that problem and stopped the DHEA.

But it works. Neither my wife nor I think that it stinks. Actually, she likes the smell, but can't notice it unless she is closer than anyone else gets. It is sticky though, so I put it on before breakfast and don't dress until after breakfast. There are only the 2 of us, so no problem with that. It is also a bit thicker than Androgel. Androgel used to run off while I was applying it, but Testim does not. And did I mention, it works. I don't know about compounded gels, but I have seen a couple of guys say that they don't absorb the compounded gels. I would like to see more experiences with compounded gels and what gel was used. My local compounding pharmacy has more than one gel that they can use.

Britman I live in Arizona where it is nice and dry. The Testim gel soaks right into my skin very quickly and I don't find it to be sticky. I can put my shirt on within minutes.

Thanks Old Fart. I really have no reason to switch unless there was a magic bullet that wouldn't convert to Estrogen. The Testim absorbs very quickly for me and I get good results from one tube. Although now I have finally reached the point where I want to take a little more.
