Quite the opposite. If you are adrenal insufficient, maintaining weight and muscle mass becomes difficult, if not impossible. Low cortisol causes muscle wasting. Only at supraphysiological levels does cortisol or its synthetic equivalents cause fat gain and muscle loss. Those cortisol lowering pills are full of shit. I would put money down that the people who take those things are actually hypothyroid and adrenal fatigued.

All those supplements geared to reduce cortisol are based on this gross misunderstanding. Cortisol is produced so that we can handle the stress that we are subjected too, not the other way around. If we are under alot of stress then we need these high levels of cortisol, taking something to reduce this incredibly important hormone is simply reducing our bodys capacity to function in such circumstances. It is not the the Cortisol causing the problem.... its the excessive stress and demands on our body. The solution is that the stress must be reduced. I have recently been using just 5mgs of Hydrocortisone a day, and I have noticed my strength levels have improved by about 10% and my muscles are looking fuller, not to mention a very strong improvement in energy levels. This follows me discontinuing testosterone replacement for just hCG. Which makes this all the more interesting. |

I am getting off the bed at 9AM, have good energy. Often I need a nap or at least have a slow-down period 3-5PM. Gave a good afternoon and evening but feel need to slow down after 9PM. Wife pissed if we are dancing and supposed to stay there till 1AM Cortisol 8AM--24.2 (4.3-22.4) Cortisol 3PM--(6.9) (3.1-16.7) Have Isocort, plan on taking about 6 pills daily (6*2.5=15mg Hc) but wonder how best to spread the pills thuout the day? . Should I ask for prescription Hc, what would be the name and dose? . . |
