Default Crash Question - What should I expect?

I am planning on stopping using androgel soon after a year of use.
I plan on doing this without any supplements or anything like that.

What can I expect as far as the crash goes?
Will I simply be fatigued and foggy, or is there more to it? Nauseousness etc?
Ive read some info about it on the net, but am interested in real peoples experiences with it.

Also... if you have been in this situation, how long did it take you to get past the worst part of the crash? After a while, should by testicles began producing T at the same level they did before TRT?

Is this something I would be able to do while continuing to work, or would I probably have to take a few weeks off?

Thanks!

This is a dam hard question to answer. If your levels were low like mine 120 before TRT you will be in bad shape. I did this 7 times seening different Endo's and the crash put me on my ass and off work on sick leave. I don't recommend doing this because you may take 4 weeks to 6 months for your testis to kick in. And they may not work at all. I just wish I could change your mind there is not one thing you will gain by doing this. Do you know why your low are you secondary or primary. If your low do to the use of steroids and want to jump start your testosterone just stoping is not the way to do it.

You would not believe how many men I told not to do this and they came back after saying they should have listened to me.

I'm secondary, and it hasn't ever been established why I'm low. The only test that was ever done before starting me on AG was Total T.

I have never used steroids or anything. Just had a lot of symptoms (could have been a number of things), went to the doc, and he slapped me on AG. All the details are in my other post.

Docs should do better jobs of educating patients. My prescribing doc never ONCE told me the effects of starting and stopping or how hard it would be. Given my scenario, had I known, I would have had ALOT more tests done before agreeing to start.

Being secondary you can stil do the tests but not on testosterone being Seconday is a pituitary problem and in some men it's just there testosterone that goes to low and the rest of your blood work will look in the normal range. But still this is not good you need to test TSH, Free T3 and Free T4, Cortisol, Glucose, DHEA-S. If these are low normal and you find a Dr. to treat them you will become a new man.

Do I need to be off of TRT to get these things you listed tested properly?

Also, would any of the things you listed being low-normal, make my T low normal, or give the symptoms described in other post.

Thanks for your replies man, they have been most valuable.

No don't go off and don't let some Dr. take you off if your secondary you need an MRI on your Pituitary Gland to be sure you don't have a tumor. Don't let this upset you they are not cancer and are very small most of the time you can't do anything but live with it. I have a bad pituitary because of a bad auto accident with a head injury. But it took them 23 yrs to figure this out and I was the one the figured it out.

One thing you can do to make your self feel better is to add HCG to your TRT if your on gels do a 250 IU shot every 3 days. If on shots once a week then the 2 days each before your next shot do 250 IU's each of the 2 days before you next shot.

For over 20 some yrs. every winter I would get dam sick with what ever was going around today we know this was because of the low Cortisol levels. My Pituitary is not sending enough ACTH to my Adrenals to make enough Cortisol so I take 5mgs of Cortef 4 times a day. Now I don't get sick with what is going around. My Thyroid is by most Dr. ok but adding Armour help me to feel better so my Thyroid was on the low side. With a low thyroid and cortisol levels your DHEA takes a hit and it goes low. All you can do is find out what your low on and supplement it to keep everything in the upper med range. When you Testosterone levels are low for a long time like mine were treating my low cortisol, Thyroid and DHEA made me T levels much better so now I don't need to do such a high dose.

Some have a low growth hormone levels and need to take HGH but you should treat first the low cortisol then thyroid with DHEA and in most of use the growth hormone goes back up.

You can get a lot of info at this site I work there on the Hypopituitary Issues and the Men's Thyroid forums.

Chris at the Hypopituitary is the best at this if you find you need help post to him.
