Gynecomastia Surgery

I'm going to give armidex another week now that I've also returned to gym since about a week ago. If its still showing poor progress (as its shown thus far) then I'm gonna raise the idea of surgery with my Dr.

I'm in Australia and looking to find out what sort of cost I would be looking at for this surgery, and who I should look to get it done through in Brisbane. Ideally I'm looking to get it done by a good surgeon so that I dont end up with a botched surgery / concave chest etc. and still retain all pectoral muscle. Yet I also want it at a good price if possible.

Keen to hear your experiences/suggestions...

Had the proceedure done in Melbourne back in 2001. Best results I could have asked for. 150ml of fat lipoed from each and left slight increase in gland to leave damage

It's a great site but he would be better off if he spent his time working on his surgery techniques and not his website. I had surgery with Bermant and it was a nightmare. I would not reccomend him to anyone and especially not if you have to travel to see him. He thought nothing of making me drive 14 hours roundtrip to see him after my surgery when a simple digital photo would have done. Including my consultation I had to make four 14 hour trips to see him

He left way too much tissue, he is all caught up in his muscles in motion BS and to make them look perfect under motion he has leave excess fat. In my case he left way too much then blamed it on regrowth even though I called him (and drove to see him) 2 weeks after surgery saying he left too much. Now that would be some ast regrowth !!

I could go on forever but he promised me a revision and never did it. I and several others bad mouthed him on the gynecomastia.org site and since he pays Merle to post there he had us banned. Also his $2800 price is misleading, it's for surgery only and doesn't include operating room fees, anesthia, vest, photos, etc. Mine was $6800 plus travel expenses and i had the surgery done in his office. That's also a 2003 price, i'm sure it's more now.

Rick Silverman (ricksilverman.com) fixed Bermants work and my chest looks great.

I had a look at Lou's link, and I have actually seen it before. I wouldn't travel to the USA for surgery anyway, but plenty of useful info and pics on that site - thx.

My gyne is almost exclusively the 'gland' type. There would be little/no need for liposuction as theres no 'fat' worth a damn to remove. My gyne was about the same as it is now, or worse, when i was 10.7% body fat, and I don't have anything even approaching cellulite on any part of my body period.

Hopefully that would make the surgery a touch cheaper, but probably not much. Please keep the suggestions coming for Australian and possibly asian surgeons who arent ridiculously expensive, but do offer excellent work....

eg: Cryptochild - who was the surgeon in Melbourne, does he have a site etc.?

Lou, thanks for your post. While I have no experiece with Bermant, I appreciate hearing the other sided of the story from some one who has! Experience trumps advertising every time.

I'm convinced Bermant is really running that site (gynecomastia.org) but even if he isn't Merle told me he p ays to post (advertise) there so it's not an unbiased forum. During my time we had at least 10 people who were very unhappy with his surgery and they were all banned.

After my surgery i actually wrote a post on the board claiming how good Bermant was ( he is very professional but has the personality of a rock). It wasn't until a few months later when he backed out of the second surgery he promised did i change my tone and tell the truth (with photos) and he had me banned.

Anyone looking for surgery should see Rick Silverman in Boston. Not only were the results much better ( Silverman is a bodybuilder and skulpetd my chest perfect, I can actually "pop" the muscle I'm so lean ) but he did the surgery in a hospital (safer) and it was $2500 less than Bermant. I wish I had used Silverman first but I was fooled by the gynecomastia.org website into thinking Berman was the best, I was so wrong !

Wow, I'm surprised to hear about that nightmare with Bermant. I don't know much about him but from what I've read elsewhere people seem to rave. That's great to hear about Silverman. The guy knows bodybuilding obviously. I didn't know he was actually out there doing revisions on Bermant's work. Some of the pictures on his website of before and after aren't as awesome as I would have hoped though.

I've also looked at www.gynecomastia.org. It talks alot about people with gyno. And has lots of doctors listed. But I can't tell who is on there just to advertise and who the people are really going to for good work.
