Default Have new doctor willing to help, but needs information

I have found a doctor who is willing to help me with trt. I had a doctor in the past that kind of shot from the hip and prescibed various things with very little lab work. My new doctor is willing to discuss any treatments as long as I have some sort of medical information for her to read.

I am currently on:

Test Cyp 0.5ml per week
Arimidex 1mg once per week
Avodart for hairloss once per day.

She had no problem writing for the test, but wanted more info on the arimidex and also the avodart since it's not commonly used for hairloss before she prescibed. I'm also curious about hcg.

My latest lab values showed my progesterone a bit low and my estrogen a bit high. She mentioned giving me a compounded progesterone which would also decrease my estrogen. Is this a bad idea? Like I said she doesn't have a lot of experience in this area. She is an older doctor, but were open minded to the topic.

Any help appreciated.

I will give you my wellness program,
you pick what you want or all of it.
I have new doctor for close to two years now and I am happy with him.
I have Medicare insurance and BC/BS as secondary.
My expenses are mainly in supplements.
Doctor constantly forgets to bill me for difference of what insurance does no cover.
Out of thousands spend on testing my to date cost is about $60.

So my costs are really only in medicines and supplements.

That introduction is because I do not want you to get scared about costs.
Yes, costs are high without insurance or when dealing with hulksters like some unfortunate folks do from time to time.

Start with a blood test at Quest Diagnostics, blood drawn at Quest.
Do list that I posted on post #44
Jan's BloodTest April13/2007 - Page 2

If you actually will go for that list, PM me, I will clean up that list.
You e-mail that list to your doc, she will print it (as is) and sign to make it to script.
DO NOT use forms provided by Quest, you will end up messed up and with different tests.

We will concentrate at first at your:

Adrenals
Thyroid
testosterone/estrogens/DHT

Post test results when you get them.

As paralel effort as your doc to open account at Genova Diagnostics.

Drop Avodart today.

Since you are already on test and arimidex....................------------........
Change to
0.25cc=25units EOD every other day, assuming you have 200mg/mL test
change to 0.25 arimidex pill on T shot days
get 380iu HCG on days between shots.
If possible use 1500iu HCG, so it is always fresh.
Get blood test after you are at least six weeks on that schedule.
Draw blood on day of the shot, time of T shot, before shot.

.
Ask questions, we can talk some more.
Good luck.

Use the smallest available needles for both T and HCG injections.
takes 4 minutes to draw T oil, do not let that bother you, well worth it.
When dissolving HCG, think about amount of Bwater, so the 380iu would fit into small syringe.
For example, I use 5mL Bwater for 10000iu, so my 380iu=19units

BD Ultrafine II U-100 Insulin Syringe 31 Gauge 3/10cc 5/16inch Short Needle--1/2 Unit Markings 100/b
BD Ultrafine II U-100 Insulin Syringe 31 Gauge 3/10cc 5/16inch Short Needle--1/2 Unit Markings 100/b Price: $25.95
BD Ultrafine II U-100 Insulin Syringe 31 Gauge 1/2cc 5/16inch Short Needle 100/box
BD Ultrafine II U-100 Insulin Syringe 31 Gauge 1/2cc 5/16inch Short Needle 100/box Price: $25.95
BD Ultrafine II U-100 Insulin Syringe 31 Gauge 1cc 5/16inch Short Needle 100/box
BD Ultrafine II U-100 Insulin Syringe 31 Gauge 1cc 5/16inch Short Needle 100/box Price: $25.95

Instead of Arimidex, consider Liquidex.
Much easier to change dose in small increments, less expensive.

Thanks for the help!

Why would you say to drop the avodart when it is the strongest known DHT blocker for hairloss? I was on propecia for a bit, but it was not working well. I mentioned the Avodart, but it has nothing to do with my TRT treatment.
I will look at your other labs and go from there.
I usually draw up my test with a 20g then switch the needle for the injection. Saves lots of time!

how was your PSA before starting Avodart? Once on it, the PSA cannot be interpreted with the same face value as before.

In women, progesterone opposes estrogen. In men, progesterone opposes DHT. For the reason, you may want to consider supplementing with pregnenolone instead of progesterone. Let the brain decide if it needs to regulate DHT by increasing progesterone.

See Miller's book over at LEF.com for a good introduction to aging and hormone replacement.

Do not use
Avodart
Proscar
Propecia
finastreide
duosteride

it is russian roulette for only 5% of men.
If you are sure that you are not in that minority, be my guest.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you enjoy using large needles, makes no difference.
Keep the information for possible latter use.
Insuline syringes are inexpensive with fixed needles.

Care to explain why? Russian roulette for what? There are thousands of men taking these FDA approved meds every day.

Dude,

Many of the guys who post on this forum are here because their systems got screwed up on those meds. That's what Jan was referring to. There are countless stories of how guys' HPTAs became permanently damaged by Propecia, Proscar, etc....and why they are having to do TRT now. Don't be fooled by what the drug companies claim. This stuff has caused a LOT of guys irreparable harm.

I'll just find my information else where.
I'm not going to tell my doctor that some guy on a steroid forum told me it was bad for me. Let's see, go with medical data or an internet message board. Hard choice.
