High DHT and low estradiol

My new lab work came in: DHT 1379 (ref. 155-553) and estradiol 1.6 (ref. 3-70). I'm on a 10% transdermal and .25mcg of arimidex. My total and free were better, but still not great. It would seem that my body does not do well with transdermals. So, no more arimidex and maybe going to injections? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Yes do shots start at 100mgs a week and try to get your levels of Total and Free T up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range. And keep your E2 down between 10 to 30 pg/ml your at to low a range I am betting you can't get it up. Gels and creams will do this to your DHT levels when you use a cream you don't need to put it on a lg. area. First try putting it on your fore arm and don't spread it out any more the the size of your fist.

Do you think I should get off the arimidex completely, or maybe every 3rd day or so. Thanks

How large is your prostate?
Enlarged prostate= lots of DHT
Mine is large, when I got of Avodart it went up to
DHT ---226 ng/dL LE’s Optimal Range: 30–50 mg/dL
When I was on Avodart my DHT was =29
Now I went back on daily Avodart but that is only till Dec1 when I have prostate doc appointment.
Latter I plan on taking Avodart every 3rd day or twice weekly.

Yes stop until you can get it tested in 6 week then if high go back on a lower dose or do you get morning wood at this levels you would have a hard time getting it up. When you stop and your levels come back up your will get some real hard morning wood I use this as a gauge to not go to low so if you get some dam good wood the go back on the lower dose but if wood stops stop the Arimdex again until wood comes back then go back on it but do less.

What made you decide to use Arimidex to begin with? Gels cause very high DHT levels which at to oppose estrogen to begin with. You should look into using progesterone with the gel if you continue to use it as the progesterone will keep your DHT low.

If you total T does not go up high enough then you should look at injections or pellets.

Prostate is fine, I've only be on the trandermal for 12 weeks. It is my understanding that injectables do not cause such a dramatic rise in DHT. If this is true, it would make sense to try use this logic with my doctor.

My serum and free test was still low on 5 grams of Androgel with the Shbg at 44. My doctor thoght it was E2 as did I.

The blood draw must be within 2-3 hours of administering the T gel/cream. Was it?

The test was done about 4 hours after the application. I used the rib area that day to ensure correct numbers. Why 2-3 hours after? Thanks
