Men's Health Forum: This is a discussion on low total test, high free test, no libido within the Anabolic Steroids forums, part of the extensive steroid information at MESO-Rx; Hi all,
I just joined this forum, im Phil.
I have been researching testerone like mad and an not coming ...
What in particular are you asking? If your endo tested for the right stuff? I think some of the popular things to test for are free test, total test, LH and FSH
hi,yes because my free test levels were normal at 8am and that doesnt surprise me..they are going to drop off as the day goes on..they dont stay high..
my total test was terribly low and yes I think she didnt maybe test for the right things..
my main concern is my absent libido..
should I get a second opinion?
I also read about a Dr. Mariano's theory that its total test that matters more than free test??
What 90% of regular docs call normal, is complete BS.
What are you total T numbers and range?
Id get a second opinion. If your total T is super low, your doc should be forwarding you to an endo.
DO NOT START on any kind of T therapy until you FIRST find the cause.
Lots of GP's will just start you on androgel or whatever without first figuring out if you are primary or secondary. Get the right tests and find the cause BEFORE you start any form of treatment.
the ones I am aware of the two tests that were done with my free levels were..
116 and 250/1200...or whatever the end number is.. he felt the number should have been around 500 atleast..if not higher
im just confused about total vs free??
regardless having low testerone being that its total test cant be good for sex drive..concentration..energy..etc
it makes no sense that my free is higher but my total is SUPER low..
If the free T is high then it could be containminated sample. Look at the shbg and total T this will give you a more accurate indication of what is going on.

is it worth trying androgel for a while or will this hurt me down the road?'
reason I ask is because my primary is willing to have me try it as long as he oversees it..
my endo seems to be focusing on my free test levels, but I dont want to drag this out too long..
what are the ramifications of using androgel if its my shbg that is screwed up..and would it ahve to be low to actually messing with my testerone levels?
