lowering total E's

i am on HRT androgel 50. my total E's while on HRT is 170 <135 is normal but my E2 was 24. can anyone one give info on how to lower total E's? i am taking idoplex DIM (RITECARE) and TMG i haven't had my blood tested yet since i have been on the DIM/TMG. any info would help

on second thought, have you two achieved an acceptible level of E2 without lowering total E. Is that causing you some for you? The use of I3C/DIM was advocated to control E2 and some harmful estrogen isomers and allow total E to be higher. So the queston remains, has the higher total E hurt in any way?

I had a similar situation. On DIM alone, my E2 was 32, but total E was 235. SWALE was very concerned about total E, and put me on Arimidex 0.25 mg qod. We'll see the results in a few weeks.

peewee327: What was the range for the E2 test? Was it something like <52? If so, then you have the wrong estradiol test done.

peewee327's E2 is already in the center of normal. Taking Arimidex will likely lower the E2 to low levels, which isn't a good thing. And apparently, Arimidex doesn't do much for overall estrogen levels, anyway.

I thought that DIM+Indolplex lowered both E2 and total estrogens. Am I wrong?

swiftarrow i am also a patient of swales let me know how your arimidex therapy goes for your total E'S. as for getting the wrong test swale ordered the labs so i am 100% sure they are the right tests. swale has me on DIM/TMG he wants me to take 2 dim pills a day but when i take them at the same time i get bad stomach/gut pains so i am taking just one pill of DIM. i wonder if taking 1 DIM in the morning and 1 DIM at night that if that would ease the stomach pain. and can someone tell me exactly what TMG does?

Can u plz explian the part about the E2 test that if it's x < 52 it's the wrong test.......... because the e2 test i had done also had that range.......... i was 26 out of x < 52..............so can u plz explain maybe i need to get tested again.............

The 13c/DIM they are talking about I don't think it is the same as Indolplex/DIM and If I remember right it does not work as good most of it is lost in the stomach. Indolplex with DIM helps get the DIM into the body.

I am not up on Trimegestone (TMG) You said "i haven't had my blood tested yet since i have been on the DIM/TMG. any info would help" I hope you are not to low on your E2 now 24 and taking this will drive your E2 to low and to me this is worse then being to high. Why are you guys worried about high E or Total E it is E2 that is the bad guy here. Taking Indolplex/DIM converts E2 into the good E so your liver get get rid or it faster. When I first started to get my E2 down I bought the wrong kind of DIM and it did nothing. So my Dr. put me on Arimidex 1/2 of a 1 mg. pill every other day. I got retested in 30 days and my levels where barley down so for the next 30 days I took 1/2 a pill everyday. My levels came down to 24 this was good so for the next 30 days I was told to take 1/2 a pill 3x's a week. My next test was <20 to low and I felt bad worse then when it was high. So for the next 30 days I was told to take 1/2 a pill once a week and my next test was still less then 20 and I was real sick. So we stopped the arimidex for 4 weeks and my next test came up to 42 to high. So back on arimidex but now 1/4 of a pill every 5 days and my next test I was less then 20, Arimidex is to strong for me to keep my E2 levels in check. I had talked to David Z and asked him what he used and where he got it. Doing Indolplex/DIM one pill a day kept my levels at 25. I can't stress more that going to low sucks big time so you guys watch your levels. I was at the time doing 10 grams of Testim along with a 200 mg. shot every week.
I am now just doing 150 mgs. of Depo T shots every week and Hcg 500 IU's 3x's a week. I am now not having such a big problem with my E2, I am keeping is in check taking 1/4 of an Indolplex/DIM pill a day.
