I don't know if these would absorb systemically, but I've come off propecia recently and really want to find a topical, or something that doesn't affect hormones, to stop hairloss.

You can buy topical spiro already made pretty inexpensively.

I think the reason they generally don't compound it with minoxidil is because of the smell.

Spironolactone does smell fairly bad. Also, you are going to have trouble getting the concentration of drug needed in the solution without having a grainy, powdery mess due to the fillers in the tablets. You would need to research what solvents would solubilize the drug then filter the solution through something that would not bind the drug but would fliter out the powders. In other words, it ain't as easy as dumping tablets into a soluton.

I buy a compounded 2% spiro product that comes in a very easy to use dauber bottle and lasts me a month for $19 at 2 applications per day.

Dr. Lee has put some kind of "good scent" in it (or so it seems, and, during my a.m. applicationI can use Rogaine foam shortly thereafter with no mercaptan odor.

The way it smells at pm application with 5% liquid/AA/retin-a, however, is a different story!!
