Default My old grumpy father.

my dad is 60 and hes grumpy all the fucking time.

Im thinking he needs a little more testosterone in his blood.

But I dont know how to talk to him about it. Anything I most likely tell him he will disreguard and not give me the time of day.

When guys get old there test levels drop most of the time right? And there estrogen increases.

So how do I go about talking to my old man about getting some more test in his blood?

What kind of doctor should he go see to get the blood work done? What are his options?

Gel? IM injections?

Also I think he should get some HGH.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink it. Best thing I can say is try to have a heart to heart talk with him. He can have this tested with his family Dr. all of it is blood work. I can give you some links about this here is one not for him but for you to read so you know what your working with. I find this to be a dam good read but don't buy any of there products.

Education is generally a nonthreatening way challenging resistance. Here's an article from Newsweek.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8962022/site/newsweek/

Then copy one of the general articles on TRT here for dad's reading. The fact that there are medical tests, etc. may impress him and lower his resistance.

I can think of a lot of things that would make a 60 year old man grumpy and maybe some talking will uncover the source: the prospects of "true" old age, worries over money, lack of sleep, lack of companionship, and just the process of getting older...nothing work as well as it did, taking multiple medications that cause multiple side effects.

If a heart-to-heart is not your or his cup of tea, try fishing the information out of him...bit by bit. Next time he pops off at you, just say, "Hey, you've been out of sorts lately. You getting enough sleep?

The key is to not take the grumpiness personally while search for its source. I'm sure Head Doc could say all this in a better way, but it's how I'd try to approach it.

If none of that works, maybe he just enjoys being an old fart around you cause he knows he can get under your skin with it.

The perception of age has little to do with years, and a lot to do with one's health and attitude.

Let's simply what I said above and see if this gives clarity to my message: Bro, just because he's acting like a grump, don't assume it's his nuts that are bothering him. You can be an old fart at any age. Talk to him. But stay up wind.
