Need help for a Friend.

Any one know how to lower progesterone and if doing the gels will drive it up to high. Also what does high Progesterone do you one.

Miller recommends 1500to 2500 pg/ml. He also recommends a progesterone to estrogen ration of 15-20. Progesterone may lower DHT. Therefore it may lower PSA--a good thing. Has your friend has a measurement lately?

What supplements is this guy taking? Is he taking pregnenolone? Doing HCG? On TRT?

This friend is Chris z from the UK he had liver problems and is doing a low dose of Testrogel or Androgel his test came back at 3nmol/l no range. So have tryed to convert it to what are units are but it got out of control one saying this and the other saying that. I did find a site that says <3.18 nmol/l is normal. He has no libido and feels like crap been trying to find out what is off or wrong for a long time and being in the UK makes it dam hard.

so how does he know that progesterone is the problem? Miller suggests that progesterone would help with the libido problem.

I hope he comes over he was posting some time ago. He is only doing 7.5 grams of Androgel and .25mgs. of Arimidex 2x's a week.

3 nmol / l is roughly equivalent to 85 0r 90 ng/dl. No wonder he feels like crap. No matter what the ref. range is thats too low.

This is the problem at the H2 group many have come back with a converson saying he is dam high. My labs range is 0.27 to 0.90 ng/ml I used a converter that said he was .865 ng/ml but the converter is for T. This site has the range at <3.18 nmol/l so this says he is high normal.

We don't know what is good other then the above link. Your the first to say he is low. This is the trouble with going from the UK to the USA. He feels he is to high.

I thought DHT opposes progesterone?
I also thought that the cream/gel's raise DHT for some?
Would not the gel be better for raising DHT than the shots?
I also thought DHT kind of raised sex drive.

I'm looking at a chart given to me by Dr. Shippen. On one axis it has total T and has both nmol/l and ng/dl on the axis. The conversion is approximately 29 meaning you multiply nmol/l by about 29 to get to ng/dl which is the units we are used to here. For example on my chart 14 nmol/l is just slightly higher than 400 ng/dl. There is no way he is high. Unfortunately I do not have a refernece to what book this came from but it is some endorinology book I believe.

You did mean to say he is 3 nmol/L for total T right? Even the link you gave above shows that is really low as I cut and paste below (shows the low end of range is 10.4 nmol/L):

Total testosterone - morning sample (nanograms per deciliter or nano-moles per liter) Prepubertal 8 – 14 ng/dl
(0.28 – 0.49 nmol/L)
Pubertal 84 – 480 ng/dl
(2.91 – 6.24 nmol/L)
Adult 300 – 1000 ng/dl
(10.4 – 34.7 nmol/L)

No he had his progesterone come back at 3 nmol/l and I am told using this link is for T and can't be used for progesterone.

But I found this link that has the range for progesterone at <3.18 nmol/l or in are units 1.0 ng/ml.

You need to scroll down on the above link to read the charts so by this he is high normal. From what I have found high normal will not do this to ones libido.
