New doc needed?

I'm on HCG only, which had gotten me to the middle of the normal range of total T, but with E2 at the upper limit of normal on the reference range. I started taking DIM a little while ago but haven't noticed any change in water retention. I also take a multi-vitamin which contains 50 mg of zinc. Erections, in general, are still difficult to achieve and maintain and I have no morning wood.

I had been on 2,000 IU 2 x / week for the first 4 weeks. I reduced that to 500 IU EOD for 2 weeks and I've now cut that down to 250 IU EOD, just because I'm scared of desensitizing my Leydig cells. I'd like to try this dose for 3 weeks or so and retest my blood.

My doctor only prescribes testosterone as a gel and doesn't want me on it because I have little children and he's scared of accidental exposure. He also didn't want to put me on Arimidex because of risk of heart disease (his words) and my being just within the upper limit on the E2 range. So until I get another doc I'm on HCG only with DIM.

My goals are to regain normal erectile function and to achieve greater virilization. Having been hypogonadal all my life, I've only dreamed of having a deeper voice, some musculature and testicles that actually hang.

I appreciate your thoughts.

What part of the country do you live? Perhaps others can recommend a knowledgeable doctor in your area.

What kind of DIM are you doing and how much. I do Indolplex/DIM comes in a tablet that you can cut in parts. Here is the one I use and I know this works but for some men it does not work as per David Z. Yet everone I have told to try it the same brand I and David use it worked.

If your doing the same brand as this then how much did you start with. I have seen men go on this and take 2 pills a day they went down so fast they missed the morning wood and went to low to fast if your doing this the stop taking it to see if your libio will come back. How and what are you taking.

OK take two one in the morning after you eat and the other after dinner. If in a week you don't get your morning wood then it is not working for you. You will need to try Arimidex.

pmgamer18, do you think I should adjust to the lower HCG dose for a few days before increasing the DIM dose? I don't want to "overshoot the target", if you know what I mean?

No if your worried about it take one and a half pills a day. Do you get any wood at all if you slam a door on it it will swell but what I am talking about is if you see a sexy lady or think about sex will it go up with out touching it. If not your E2 can be doing this and it is hard to tell if your high or low so if one and a half does not give you hard morning wood then after a week try 2 pills and if that does not do it stop taking it. If stopping bring on wood the you were to low take you pick it is hard to tell with out a blood test. If you lower any thing now then you have no idea from blood tests what is going on.

I think that your correct in getting a new doctor. As far as arimidex and heart disease I assume that your doctor is refering to studies done with postmenapausal female cancer patients. I have seen studies where AI's were administered to healthy young males without any markers to assume increased risk of heart disease. Perhaps your doctor should worry more about your increased risk of prostate cancer with elevated E2 levels.
