It's a dam shame at the H2 group we have a guy on TRT his Dr. is up on TRT but the crap we have I don't know. I never said anything because his Dr. does his shots every 2 weeks.
All you can do is keep looking for a Dr. did Chris have any Dr.'s from his list that you could use.

The way I manage without the Florinef is I take in a lot of salt and try to avoid the heat. I also take 40 mg of HC as the cream. With stress doses whenever I need it. It is just enough to keep me from going into adrenal crisis, but not enough for me to live a normal life. Here, the worst months for me are March, September, October, November and December. The heat and humididty are oppressive in those months. Soon I will be self employed. That means I will have control over my working conditions. A construction site in October is bad if you have untreated adrenal insufficiency.
It is good to hear you are feeling cold. I almost never feel cold. I know something is seriously amisss with me. It can be 90 outside and I do not sweat. What happens instead is my temp is going up to the tune of 99 or 100. My doctor once saw that when I went in for a visit in September. It did not alarm him because I tested within reference range for both the serum cortisol and the ACTH stim test. Most doctors are not aware of the effect adrenal insufficiency has on temperature regulation. Chris thinks I am adrenal insufficient based on my symptoms and my blunted, but within range response to a stim test. I know I am, given my need for so much salt and my response to HC supplementation. Looks like I am on my own fot this one too.

If you got a script for Florinef could you buy it at your local drugstore?
Sure can. Almost all pharmacies in Hawaii have Florinef, Cortef and any other steroid you might need. Deca or test is another story. Problem is getting diagnosed. Doctors have their heads up their asses when it comes to hormones. Remember, I am the guy who is forced to do my own TRT. Somehow, a little envelope of test powder gets through the mail a lot easier than blister pack strips of Cortef and Florinef.

All male doctors need to be on a one year cycle of Proscar and Androcur. Maybe then, a hypogonadal man would be treated with the same care given to other patients.

No good doctors around here. Labs are a joke as well. I did mention that reference ranges for total T start at 198. HTF did that happen?

Phil,
The relationship between adrenals/thyroid/testosterone is very interesting. It appears that if there is enough cortisol in the body but NOT enough thyroid, it's much easier to get testosterone up with meds. If you have enough thyroid in your body but not enough cortisol (to get the thyroid into the cells), it's much harder to get testosterone up. This appears to be what happened to you when you switched to hc.

Yes it's something like that bottom line is to find out whats low and treat them. Dr.'s are to stuck with the thought that if your in the normal range your Ok. So now that we are treating all the low thing and this last one I feel must better. I should have been on Armour, cortef, DHEA, testosterone and Florinef 23 yrs. ago.

Just to let you know, Phil.
For years I was not able to raise my DHEA, I was using DHEA pills 350mg/day.
I also used pregnenolone pills, I think that is BS as well.
I started 100mg/1gram prescription pregnenolone cream, 1gram/day.
My DHEA is 3x over maximum range now.
I stopped using DHEA pills.
Unfortunately Quest skipped my pregnenolone blood test., and two other (Estradiol BioAvailable and VLDL).
I will have to ge stabbed again just for that.
---------------------------------
Quest is using units that I have not seen before.
Also they do not have this type of units in their EndoManual-2004
My test:
DHEA sulfate 306mcg/dL (25-95)
.
.
Then go to pharmacist and ask him for the name of the doctor who prescribed Florinef.

Thanks, I never thought of that. The good doctor for me to deal with is one who has prescribed Armour, Cortef and Florinef to the same patient. I have a long blacklist of internal medicine doctors and endocrinologists who I will have nothing to do with, It is highly doubtful any of them are enlightened enough to treat thyroid and adrenals correctly with the above drugs.

The levels are low becasue 3 labs ago I tested over the top of my labs range. We kept things the same and did the test again in 6 weeks my tests were to high. So we lowed my HCG from 350 IU's to 250 next test my levels are to low so we upped the HCG to 300 IU's and I am still to low.
I do not do my shot subQ I shoot into my thigh with a small 27g x 1/2" lg. needle. I was doing 65 mgs of T every 3 days we lowered the dose to 50mgs every 3 days and the HCG that I do the 2 days each in between my T shots down from 350 to 250. Now I am a mess trying to get back up.
I say this all the time don't lower your dose if you feel ok and I was on top of the world before we lowered my dose some 6 months ago.
Next test we are checking Iodine yet he feels it's not a problem. So we will see the salt we use at home has Iodine in it.
phil, i thought you were loving subq and it helped your e2. why are you not subq anymore?
Well if my Dr. would not have given me the Florinef I was going to get it my self. Having hypoaldosteronism on top of everthing else is a bitch. I am on day 3 of taking only 1/4 of a 100 mcg. pill and man I am cold today thank God I am sitting here with no fan on. I slept good last night never got up once. I did cut way back on my salt and stopped taking a water pill 3 x's a week. Yet this morning I did some sea salt 1/2 a tsp in a glass of water I could tell I needed it. Chris at STTM says most still need a little sea salt on Florinef. My breathing is back to 100% I just can't see how you are getting on with out these meds. You need to find someone that goes to the main land a lot and get them to bring the meds back for you. There has got to be a way to get them. With this last set back I put all the weight I lost 2 yrs ago back on and some. I am hoping with this new med I will get back the gym at the old persons club and work this weight off this will make me feel even better.
phil, what do you mean "My breathing is back to 100%"? reason i ask is because i can never seem to catch my breath. im always yawning. what helped and why does it happen?
