Default Newbie to TRT ... turning point?

Hi guys, sorry this is so long. This is my first time posting and this seems like a very helpful forum from all I've read.

Here's my deal. I started seeing Dr. Romeo Mariano about a year ago, and I have nothing but the highest regard for him - he is both extremely smart and willing to consider how you feel, not just what tests show. I found him by reading forums like this, so thanks for turning me onto him.

I started seeing him in 2008 because for the last few years I'd felt a certain lack of energy, pooor quality sleep, no nocturnal erection, no morning erections and mild ED in that I generally needed manual stimlation to become erect. I had a Uro test my T level and it was 234 (I was 37 years old at the time). The Uro tried to sluff it off but I knew that was too low. So I went to an Endo who tested me - T came back 434. I'd beein using L-Arginine and don't know if that caused an increase or not, but the Endo gave me the old "you're in the normal range - goodbye" blow-off. I even went to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona and got the same story; thus I sought out Dr. Mariano.

For the last year, Dr. M has been working on my diet, adrenals, and to curb inflamation in my system. I've made some improvements like eliminating my Irritable Bowel problems but as far as energy, libido, not really. He's had me on numerous vitamins, Hydrocortisone and DHEA. My Test was seeming to be coming up too on paper. Under his care, my T levels have been 460, 478, 535, and this last time 400. One problem he's mentioned all along is my E2 is low - the times we've tested it it's been 15, 10 and 14.

At my one-year return visit, he decided to go ahead with TRT - one 100mg injection of TCyp per week. And while that's initially why I went to see him a year ago, I have to admit, I'm scared. I've read countless reports on these boards and others of guys on a TRT rollercoaster. I'm worried about more body hair (I'm already hairy enough!), acne, shrinking testicles ... but most of all, I'm worried about hitting valleys where not only does ED set in, but it's not even serviceable by Viagra. That would be worse off than I am now. Now, I know when I need it, Viagra works at least (actually I switched to Levitra).

Could any of you sages give me some advice on what I'm in for? I know TRT has a lot to offer and may be the turning point in my life, but I'm also scared I'm going to grab a tiger by the tail and have periods where I'm worse off than I am currently. I know I have a great doctor, but this is still a huge decision and I'd like to hear from guys who have done this and lived with the results. I'm not a bodybuilder, have never done T, and am just a normal guy.

Any advice or counsel is very much appreciated. Thanks, fellas.

I would trust Dr. M if I were you and not to worry so much.

The increase in test will bring your E2 up. I'm sure he plans to have you use HCG as well which will maintain your testies size and function. You will feel much better soon. congrats

If you have been seeing Dr. M for a year and no succes in allievating low T symptoms, I suppose it¨s time for TRT.

You will br lucky to have Dr. m supervise your treatment.
