Default (opinion poll) needle gauge of T injections

Been doing HRT for 18 mts or so and just injected a 5.5ml dose of T with the same needle, 23x1, as used for the draw and it was as painless as any shot I`ve ever had. Normally draw with a 23x1 and switch to a 27 for the push and it often stings a bit. Ive heard it said that the smaller guages are more painfull. Or maybe I got lucky and missed the nerves. The nurses at the VA use a 21 most of the time for general purpose IM. Question is: Is bigger better and at what point is it not? Opinions please !
Hope all are well

5.5ml dose of T
if that was 200mg/mL
you have got 200*5.5=1100mg of testosterone

enjoy

if 5.5ml was painless...well, you're a better man than i GD. Re: needle guages...for me, least painful is 25G IM and 30G SubQ...

A 5.5 ml injection of T doesn't sound like HRT unless it is a once a month injection.

21 gauge needles cause a lot of tissue damage and hurt a lot and contributes to a lot of scar tissue formation from repeated injections. It is useful for torture.

23 gauge needles can hurt for weeks. It is useful for drawing before switching to a smaller gauge for injection.

25 gauge is useful to minimize pain on intramuscular injections. It isn't so small that it takes too long time to inject a thick liquid like T.

27 gauge and smaller are useful for subcutaneous injections.

With a smaller gauge needle, the problem with intramuscular injections is keeping the needle still while injecting T at a slower rate. Sideways movements of the needle causes tears in the muscle. 25-gauge is a good compromise compared to 27 and smaller gauges.

With smaller gauges than 27, the problem with subcutaneous injections is that the thinner needles more easily bend and thus may have difficulty in penetrating the skin of some patients which are thicker than others. Thus a compromise size like 27-gauge is chosen - a size small enough yet a needle which is stiff enough for injection.

For almost two years I use
BD Ultrafine II U-100 Insulin Syringe 31 Gauge 3/10cc 5/16inch Short Needle

It is the smallest syringe with the smallest needle that is available.

Insuline pens have even smaller (shorter) needles.

I do EOD depo-testosterone shots
on days in between I do two shots, HCG & B12

Newer had needle bend, either when I shoot straight or little side-ways.

My BioAvailableTestosterone levels are as expected.

I used 23g for months, shooting into the glutes - it was virtually painless.

Draw with 18, shoot with 23. 27 is okay for small amounts.

Well I have been doing shots everyday into my thighs I do .35mls of 200mgs./ml of Depo T every 3 days and use a 27g 1ml x 1/2" lg. needle to pull the oil out of the vial I just pull the plunger al the way down and hold it takes about a min. to get .35mls out. As for shooting if you shot T oil to fast IM you end up sore with a big lump that is there for days. I have no problems doing my T shots this way I can see how someone could move the needle side to side I don't. I then use a 30g x 1/2" long needle to do my 400 IU shots of HCG the 2 days each in between my T shots still no problems. Been at this 4 yrs. now.

25g 1" for TC and 29g 1/2" for HCG.

Damned if I didnt miss another decimal point. Maybe thats the reason I was feeling so spunky last week. Repeated the experience, just now, with a fresh dull 23 in the same muscle- painless. I was doing doing half the amount twice as often for a few months,i.e., .025ml(200mg/ml)e2-3d

ibido and energy level suffered. My jump to a conclusion re. the latter is that the second derivative of serum T concentration is important. Might postulate that the body realizes that sameness is boring and therefor naturaly releases T, LH, ect in a bursts rather than constantly.
