Default Psychological effects of cabergoline

I bought some cabergoline to try and improve my libido. I choose it because my prolactin was above normal. It helped my libido a little but it has made me feel better in many other ways. I'm taking 0.5mg 2X/week. It has made me calmer and less paranoid. It seems like I can hear better (picking out sounds and voices from a noisy environment). I also seem to be better at picking up on peoples facial expressions as well. My wife says that I have been happier and other people seem more friendly towards me. I have always been an "anxious" type of person so this seems like a good change. I am not on any other meds other than DHEA which also seems to improve my mood. I tried TRT but other than the muscle building aspects it did not seem to do much for me.

I have a few questions:

Is this to be expected from the cabergoline?

Does cabergoline increase or decrease blood pressure?

Am I likely to become dependent on this stuff?

Would deprenyl at <5mg work better, it also works to incresase the effects of dopamine and is rumored to have protective effects.

Thanks for any advice.

I have heard prolactin is a pulsitile hormone, so lab values do not always reflect an accurate picture. But keep us posted on your results!

I definitely noticed psychoactive effects from cabergoline. For me I felt that it affected my 'love' tendency, I was really over-smitten with a girl, moreso than my normal tendencies and I am sure the cabergoline had something to do with it. The dopamine changes and its relationship to serotonin makes logical sense that it will affect brain chemistry.

It didn't really help my libido in any way though, so I think for sure the hype about it being a sex drug is really really exaggerated.

It is my understanding (and only my understanding) that prolactin is realeased at point of orgasm. It is what gives the "satisfied" feeling. Lowering prolactin gives the possibility of going a second time(not raising libido for the first time).15mg week of L-Deprenyl (selegiline) would probably help your libido more.
B6 is the poor mans cabergoline. Couple hundred mg tablets will give the same sexual results as cabergoline.

One article that I read suggested that the surge in Prolactin following an orgasm is due to a temporary drop in dopamine. Therefore it is a "byproduct" and supressing the PRL through cabergoline won't improve sex. However there is a proven relationship where excess prolactin caused by pituitary tumors suppresses testosterone and the sex drive.

The cabergoline does seem to make orgasm more intense. In addition it seems to have reduced the amount of heartburn that I get as well as other digestive problems that are probably stress related.
