Quality of Food Supply

Hi,

Does anyone ever get concerned about the quality of the food supply? Are there ever parasites, bacteria, or virsus found in the food supply especially fish, meat, but other foods as well? I have heard that parasites can grow pretty long inside the body, but am not sure how true this is? Anyone with more information? Thanks
