Default Question about HPTA

After reading a question and answer topic by Dr. Scally, does anyone know how long after coming off of TRT how long it can take to get the HPTA axis working again? I know there is probably not a specific answer but i'm just looking for something in a ballpark range.

Thanks,
Josh

Josh why are you on TRT is it from AAS if so you may be able to jump start your HPTA again. But if you have primary low t meaning your testis don't work good enough stopping will bring you back to your base line test unless they started working again.

I am secondary Phil, and its not from AAS. Doc thinks it could have been high prolactin caused from anti-depressant interfering with my HPTA axis to begin with.

Did your doctor give any explanation as to why TRT was initially recommended instead of treating the high prolactin?

I take it you took some thing to bring down your prolactin and now need to see if you can get your HTPA started again. I know of men that did this they just waited it out and little by little there T levels came up. But they did not feel so bad they could not make it to work. So how do you feel. Dr. Mike can help you on this one.

The first doc did not treat my high prolactin, but i had checked two months ago and it had came way down, back to normal. So it was prob the anti-depressant that elevated it and now its normal. Thats why i am now trying to get off TRT and see what happens.

I feel pretty good. I just got my levels checked when they were drawing blood for something else at my family doc and my levels are already back where they were before i started TRT. I have been off of Androgel for two weeks and I'm at 248 total test. right now. I have already been able to tell my balls are coming back. Am gonna wait it out and see what my levels do.

The answer to your question is 45 days.

I am on his protocol right now as we speak and am making fantastic progress.

Without a good protocol 6 to 18 months, that will be hell in the process.
