swale i dont know if you saw the posts of another guy and myself,,but we were wondering why we get a red like sunburn from hcg (mostly) and all forms of test..hcg seems to be the worst even at 250 iu's..i want to do some hcg and nolva to see if it can raise my t level to within normal before doing dr. suggested trt. i was think possibly from raise in E level but the redness happens even from first shot?? thx for all help
You obviously have a sensitivity to some component in both mixtures. I would suggest you not take either of them again.
I wonder if it could be from the benzyl alcohol--present in both.
If you are getting your drugs from the streets--and I certainly hope you are not, they often have 10 times the BA content (in order to reduce the risk of infection secondary to inferior production techniques). Even some legit compounding pharmacies do this.

I don't know if I should open another thread but in the meantime lets put it here
bros what finally is it the cause of red face while on Hcg ?
Dr Crisler stated is due to the alcohol in it but what does red face translate to ????
high blood pressure
or high e2 ???????
i can't find a single article that elaborates more on any engine, whether mysearch.yahoo.com; clusty; msn; google of course; vivissimo
the closest one was some women talking about clomid with red neck and face.
even Bill Roberts on mesorx does not mention side effects with hcg or if he ever did i surely missed it
let me add pretty quick this is from legit compounding pharmacy
Are the hcg and test you used compounded by the pharmacy? Maybe you could ask them specifically what ingredients and amounts are present. They may have some alternative formulation. Another thing you could try, and this would probably require your doctor to get involved, but have your doc ask them to prepare one with all the ingredients except the test/hcg, and see if that causes the red skin. It's probably a good idea to get your blood pressure checked by a doctor or nurse when you have the red skin. If your blood pressure is high you are putting yourself in danger.
The other question I have is, how red are you talking here? I noticed that my skin looks more "tan" since starting TRT. But its nothing that stands out so much that it causes me concern. My blood pressure is good, so I'm not worried about it.
Off topic: where does Bill Roberts post these days and under what nickname?
EDIT: After writing this I realized that the questions were asked by two guys, not one.
I have posted here a few times about the same problem. Every type of TRT I have tried triggers it. With HCG, I looked like a I had a bad sunburn from head to toe. It also caused moderate BP elevations and HR accelarations. BP was low 140's/mid-80's and resting HR was 72-76. Now that I have been without any T for a month, they are back to usual values. I'm in good shape, so they're both normally pretty low.
My own doc has no good explanation for it-has never encountered it. I did exchange emails w/ an age management doc in Monterey who encountered it in one patient who was on a compounded cream. It turned out, the guy was allergic to soy and the T was soy-derived. They switched to a yam-derived soy and he had no more problems. I went through the same drill - we established that it wasn't the carrier, we tried creams from different pharmacies, soy-derived, yam-derived. They all caused the same symptoms.
The package insert for androgel mentions that people with soy allergies should use the product with caution.
I know I haven't provided any answers here, but I thought the info would be helpful.

earthdog-> great idea bro. I'll ask them.
the only thing i can think of is maybe get some bacteriostatic water with less benzyl alcohol in it.
the one I have its 0.9% ba in it.
as far as the hcg itself nothing can be done about it.

exactly !!!! like 'tan' . even the effects were as if I had been in the beach.
after spending a day in the beach when you come home and take a shower, you know how usually you have that feeling of heat on your face....thats what i had.....skin was oily too but that didn't surprise me......the main concern was that freaking heat and the tan appearance

pmgamer18 said on another thread ( don't recall which one ) his face turns red when E2 is high , that makes sense too.

bro your info is very helpful, appreciate it
i'd like to see if some bro comes up with a medical paper somewhere that talks about hcg and this side effect.
At first I dismissed the talk about BA, but I'm getting curious. I checked all the old vials - the diluent for the HCG has 1% BA and the cyp has 5% BA.
I don't have the transdermals any more, so I can't check all of them. One of them, I remember, was compounded w/ dermabase. MSDS for dermabase didn't report any BA. But, the pharmacy could have added BA. I will call tomorrow to find out.
Quick search of MEDLINE shows that contact reactions to topical BA are pretty common. There are also reports of reactions to BA in injectables, but not nearly as frequent - these range from skin rash to fatal reactions that may be a result of having a defective alcohol dehydrogenase.
Apparently can be extremely toxic to newborns.
You can get a skin test to see if you are allergic. Wouldn't surprise me if I'm allergic to it. I'm one of those types that has a lot of allergies. So I guess I will get the skin test.
