All,
Some of you suggested that I do a 4 x cortisol saliva tests based on some symptoms of adrenal fatigue, long-term use of adderall, and low blood serum dhea-s. The results came out as I might expect. I have no stress or anxiety from the time I wake up to about 10:30am. Here are my cortisol results and reference ranges. Any help would be appreciated (I just purchased the book "Adrenal Fatigue"):
7am Cortisol = 7.5ng/ml (3.7-9.5)
Noon Cortisol = 1.2ng/ml (1.2-3.0)
6pm Cortisol = 0.6ng/ml (0.6-1.9)
10pm Cortisol = 0.3 (0.4-1.0)
Everything is low except for when I wake up. I know
TRT can decrease ACTH, but I also know how
TRT can decrease serotonin indirectly effecting perceived stress and therefore possiblyincreasing ACTH (per Marianco).
The saliva kit also included the following other assays and results:
Estradiol = 1.6pg/ml (0.5-2.2) ** probably not useful as saliva
Progesterone = 19pg/ml (12-100)
Testosterone = 151pg/ml (58-120)
DHEA-S = 6.1 (6-18)
Cortisol was the
test I was so curious about because I have had trouble with stress for about 10 years but also live the life of a intense financial executive. I guess the idea of taking HC scares me so I am curious to hear what you guys think.
Last thing was that I am perplexed about a statement ZRT labs made about my estradiol. They said my symptoms (you have the option of rating your symptoms) reflect both low and high estradiol. The statement that I am confused about....
"This suggests that target tissue aromatase levels in adipose tissue are high, resulting in direct tissue conversion of adrogens to estrogens without excessive levels of estrogens accumulating in the peripheral circulation."
Thanks everyone
