can someone help taper off liquid prozac?

my friend wants some help tapering off liquid prozac because he got really bad withdrawl side effects from going cold turkey from paxil 6 years ago!

how should he taper off the prozac to minimize any bad effects? also ow long will it take forhimto come off the stuff,thanks.

the fact that he is on liquid and not tablets gives him a head start with the withdrawal...as far as i am aware, tapering off prozac should be a lot easier than paxil.

some people make 1mg increment reductions once a fortnight and some go a little quicker, like 2.5mg decreases once a week.

tell him to check out a website called www.paxilprogress.com

it is a good website when it comes to ssri withdrawal.

I agree w/ Billy. If your friend has any concerns about stopping, tell him he should withdraw VERY gradually. He could take 6 months or even a year if he needs to. He should have no trouble doing it this way. Cold turkey is a VERY bad idea with SSRIs.
