Default Will someone tell me a legitimate reason why some labs won't send me my results?

A couple of weeks ago, I sent some urine and saliva samples to Sanesco. Dr. Mariano had given me the box with the little bottles back when I saw him in August.

The tests are to measure my neurotransmitters as well as cortisol and DHEA levels. I paid $269 plus an additional $20 in Fed Ex charges.

I told them that I was no longer seeing Dr. Mariano, but I gave them the name, address and phone number of my new doctor.

Today I called them and asked if the results had come in. They said they had not come in.

I asked if they would email me the results once they did come in, but they said that would not be possible.

They said they will email them to Dr Mariano and he would have to forward them to me.

The problem is, I don't want to sit around waiting until Mariano's office decides to forward me my own results. We've all heard how difficult it is to get him to call patients back. Sometimes it takes more than two weeks.

How long is it going to take for him to get back to someone who is not going to pay him more money?

I asked them why they couldn't send me my results directly, considering that I am the one paying for this out of my own pocket.

The first person I spoke to said it was "illegal". I asked her to specify which law makes it illegal for a lab company to send a patient their own results. She was unable to do so.

The second person I spoke to said it was "policy", but was unable to explain why it was in place. He then mentioned the HIPAA law, but I said there was nothing in the HIPPA law that makes it illegal for a lab to send a patient their own results.

I think it's such bullshit that as an adult who paid for their own medical tests to be denied the results. I don't really care if they want to send the results to my doctor, but they should send me a copy as well.

Besides, they are well aware that I am not even seeing Mariano anymore. And they have my new doctor's information, but because he is not part of their system, they won't send the results to him either.

So I will never use Sanesco again. Fuck them and their patronizing attitude.

Does anyone know of any other lab that tests for neurotransmitters that is willing to deal one on one with the patient?

A few hours after my initial conversation with Senesco, I received a call from Hector Romero, who is a supervisor. He ensured I would receive my results as soon as they come out, if I send him an email with my mailing address, confirming that I am, indeed, the patient.

So I guess it's good to question policy every now and then.

If you want to test neurotransmitters plus many other,
I suggest you take look at
Genova Diagnostics

GDX NutrEval Profile
GDX NutrEval Profile

test results come with a list of supplements to take and daily dose

If you want to save money and do similar but shorter test, then do;

GDX ONE - Optimal Nutrition Evaluation
