testim, daily peak vs steady state???

I'm a bit confused, the insert that comes with my Testim 5G tubes shows serum testosterone peaking 8 hours after application. Yet my endo says, and I've read here in different places, that the gel's reach a steady state after 3 to 4 days.

My endo has no concern about timing of application to a blood draw because of this, yet the insert would have me believe otherwise.

So what am I missing here guys?

Yes, I'm doing 1 5gr tube a day right now.

I am in the same dosage too and the following Monday expect blood test results for free testo.Have you done bloodwork?
BTW i am not very satisfied for testim and doing HCG occasionally .Allso 20mg nolva a day.

No offense to you or your Endo but he probably does not know what he is doing when it comes to TRT. Find an Anti-aging Dr. they know there stuff when it comes to TRT. Most regular Dr's will just throw gel at you and expect you to go on living.

Where are you located??? When I say Anti-aging Dr. I mean a Dr. that has experience in administering different homrones for the benefit of getting hormone levels to where they were when you were in your early to late 20's.

Most standard physicians are not familar w/Testosterone administration and what comes along with taking it. Endo's are included in this. I am not saying all Endo's are not familiar w/this I am just saying the majority. They are not familar w/armoatization. They do not know that for most people the beneficial ranges are in the upper third of the range. The aren't familar w/transdermals converting to DHT and most do not want to listen when you come in and say I still feel like crap Dr. what do I do? They will just tell you to keep on taking the gel and give up. The worst thing I have seen is that they don't give you a large enough starting dose to compensate for your own bodies eventual shutdown and you end up feeling worse than you did before you started. The startind dose has to be enough to compensate for this.

Yup, my family Dr. offered the androderm patch (which worked for a few weeks and then did nothing) and only offered monthly injections besides that. I got him to prescribe another 2.5gr patch along with the 5gr while I waited to see this endo. Saw the endo and still tested low on 7.5gr of androderm, so he perscribes 5gr of testim, wait a month to test, which I did yesterday.

I've decided if he up's me to 10gr of testim I'll give that a shot, but if not, I'm going to go the hrt clinic route while I find a local Dr. who can treat this agressively like I want and believe I need. After 4 to 5 years of depression and cognitive shutdown (I'm an engineer, get paid for my brain or what's been left of it) I'm done taking the 'wait and see' approach. The difference in my life during those first few weeks of the patch, and when I've up'ed my dose myself for a week or two was not subtle.

I live in Greece and i do not think we have docs like these you say.Before i go to endo I was doing HCG 1500iu every third day and nolva 40mg a day on my own and when i went to him he said to stop all and go to testim 1 tube a day for a month and see me after.Testim was the time was coming to greece ,it is not more than two or three months that has come,how has an experience on it?also in greece we have pregnyl 1500iu,5000iu,testoviron depot(enanthate),and andriol(undecanoate) ,now testim gel,nolva,clomid and proviron.Can we succeed a good TRT from these?.I am 24 and i have secondary hypogonadism testo is in the low normal range.Should i self-medicate from a protocol like althingsmale or anything else and get levels checked?Because docs here give you a gel like mine or as my previous did a 250mg enanthate every 10 days and that's all ,simple.
What do you suggest?.i must not go 30 years old to get the right recipe,i must end the story.

In answer to the original question, what you are missing is the fact that the testosterone does not leave your system completely after one day. So on day 2 you are adding to the residual on day 1 etc..

For instance, for weekly injections the 1/2 life is ~5-8 days and thus levels increase from one week to the next since you still have some testosterone from the previous weeks injections. If you look at decay curves superimposed upon each other, you see levels stabilizing after ~6 weeks. However, they still peak a day or so after each weekly shot.

Same happens for gels, but in a more subtle way. You get the 'stabilized' levels after 2-3 days instead of 6 weeks, but still peak each day ~ 8 hours after application.
